Guest guest
Rita, I have done a lot of research on probiotics and I see the benefit only for individuals who have taken antibiotics alot! The probiotics helps to restore good bacteria in your body that antibiotics kill along with the bad bacteria. Not sure if this will help your asthma. I have also done some research on magnesium supplementation and asthma. Im currently testing this on myself, who has asthma and is also on singular, advair and flonase due to bad environmental allergies. Ive only been doing the supplementation for a few weeks seems to help so far. Time will tell. Also the better breathing herbal supplement your taking cant hurt and should help slightly. I would also recommend a product called "Agelessxtra" which has all herbal ingredients as well as cordyceps sinensis a rare mushroom to help with shortness of breath and wheezing. I take it daily and notice a change especially with two things, IBS and the shortness of breath. Take a look at the website below for more info. Otherwise glad to hear your looking at some natural remedies. I would definitely keep on your medication when you try there things and determine with you and your doctor if necessary to cut back on pharmaceutical needs.Rita Weirich wrote: - I am especially interested in any natural approaches asthma and congestion. Recently, someone else on a different group suggested the connection between what happens in the digestive system and how much mucous is being produced by your body. This person recommended a probiotic, so I started taking a combination acidophilus (and 2 others I can't remember - 3 in all). What is your opinon on this treatment, and what kind of result can I expect (and how long will it take to feel a difference)? Or am I wasting my time and money? I'd also be interested in hearing more about treatment for the fungal infection??? that was mentioned by someone else on the list. I don't think I can handle any type of colon cleansing approach (previously suffered from IBS which is now under control thank God), but any other suggestions would be great. I currently take allegra D, singulair, and am trying to wean off the inhaled steroids flonase and asthmacort. I take a host of vitamins including a multi, lutein (mother has macular degeneration), 1200MG calcium (osteopenia). Been allergy tested twice and declared allergic to nothing, cause of asthma "environmental". Also take a combination vitamin called "Better Breathing Now" which definitely helps (Vitamin C, Niacin, B12, Calcium, L-Glutamine, Green Tea Extract, Creatine, Ginko Biloba Extract, Quercetin, DHA & Grape Seed Extract - don't know why it helps, but it does). My issues are mainly inflamation and mucous vs. any kind of constriction. I also use a Flutter Valve when the "crud" flares up, this also helps. Thanks for joining the group.
