Guest guest
Annie, my heart goes out to you. I was upset about losing my 30s to RA but to get lupus/fibro at 26 years old is unthinkable to me. I don't have much to add. I think all of the important points have been covered by everyone else. I didn't have much success with many of the meds including Ultram only it worked but more like on my mentality. My dreams were so morbid and vivid that I flushed the entired bottle right away so that I wouldn't be tempted to take them with another flare. I have only been able to tolerate ibuprofen (motrin) for pain and it is the same as advil in the store so you know not much pain was lifted from that. I know it can be really scary. And happy that you have an early diagnosis -- now they can try to slow down the progression of the diseases sooner. My daughter regressed when she was almost 2 I developed RA shortly after that. So I had 11 years of changing diapers and lifting her while fighting RA. It was tough but we moms are tough and will do anything for our children regardless of our pain level. Just surround yourself with positive people, people who aren't afraid of the condition and who will help out without you having to convince them you are in pain, people who will help around the house, clean a little or babysit or run errands for you, or hire a Mother's helper to watch the baby and help out with the cleaning occasinally. Just mainly so you don't over do it, can get to you appts, take care of yourself, and get plenty of rest. Don't forget to enjoy life in between the aches and pains as well which with a little one I am sure you will. peace and healing, Ebony
Guest guest
Thank you everyone for the support. My Rheumy called me back today and apologized for being too busy to call me back. She gave me vicodin to take at night and wants to see me in her office tomorrow to go over test results. Please pray that all goes well. (if you pray because I don't want to offend anyone who doesn't) I also called and made an appt. to see a pain specialist that my aunt goes to. She has scleroderma and has found that it's helpful. I look farward to being here more often. Annie
