There is a nice " hepatitis " forum at http://www.medhelp.org/ with

lots of supportive people who have Hepatitis C. I am sure they have

lots of information for you and can help you more with this than we

can (most of us have autoimmune hep, as mentioned previously). They

are really a nice group of people, so give it a try! I have even

seen some discussion of cryoglobunemia there.

I am sure many here also have fibromyalgia, though, and can offer

suggestions and help for that!

Best,

Becca...

Welcome to the group. Delayed response, sorry...I only check this

once a month. I hope that they have checked ALL your hormone

levels. With you being hypo thyroid, AND the hysterectomy....along

with the epilepsy meds. Maybe there is another hormone out of wack.

What are the side effects of your epilepsy meds, perhaps that is

causing the tierdness. I can tell the difference between thyroid

related tierdness and other tierdness. I am careful to take my

synthroid on an empty stomach, with a full glass of water, and

waiting 30 minutes before eating, to make sure it is as effective as

it can be. There is a long list of foods to avoid in order to keep

your thyroid working at its highest level. Maybe if you did this you

could boost your system??

Sorry I am not more help.

Hello everyone...

I'm new to the group....I joined a few weeks ago, but have not posted

until now.

I was officially diagnosed last Tuesday with RA. My Rheumatologist

has put me on Mtx 7.5mg every Friday for two weeks and then 15mg every

Friday thereafter. I am also on Folic Acid (Folpace).

I had Chronic Pancreatitis for 9.5 years and ultimately had my

pancreas removed and had the first islet cell transplant in the

southeast for pancreatitis (they harvested my islet cells from my

pancreas and put them in my liver). My question to the group is, does

anyone know if there is a link between pancreatitis and rheumatoid

arthritis or even a complete pancreatectomy (removal of the pancreas)

and RA?

Thank you for any help you can give!

Robin

Welcome to the group, Robin!

I don't know of a link between pancreatitis and rheumatoid arthritis itself;

however, many of the drugs used to treat RA have been implicated in cases of

pancreatitis.

We do have one long-time member, Lynn (MeMom), who had RA first, then had

pancreatitis. Her situation became so serious that she had to have part of

her pancreas removed (Whipple procedure).

Not an MD

I'll tell you where to go!
