Guest guest
Sue, I had my first MTX shot last Friday and I was already to pay and the receptionist said we don't charge for shots. Funny thing they had marked a price on my patient information sheet but she wouldn't accept any payment. I am not sure why???? I guess I will see if the same thing happens this Friday as I go in for my second shot. I am not complaining by no means..... Regarding Enbrel..........Enbrel worked for me and was a miracle drug for me for most of the time I was on it. I gave myself shots twice weekly; choosing not to try the 50 mg shot. Also, I had a reaction to the shots each time I gave myself a shot; I just learned that was a part of me being on Enbrel and took them in stride. I was on Enbrel for about two and half years when my RA doctor decided I was not responding to treatment like I needed to be so she took me off of Enbrel and put me on Humira. Now Humira is a different story for me.........it has by far been my most worst nightmare!!!! I am sure it works well for most people but I am in the 1% group that had a bad reaction to it and can't take it. It caused me to become very ill, swell horribly, major pain, put me in a bad flair and caused my intestines to start to shut down; I felt like I had an IV hooked up to me with poison going into my body 24/7. My RA doctor almost admitted me to the hospital.............thank goodness she discovered what was making me so sick. Currently, I am on Remicade and just started the MTX shots. I have been in a bad flair for the past 6 months but this past Monday I started feeling like a ray of sunshine was shining on me and I am beginning to feel a little better............. Are you currently taking Enbrel? If so good luck and if I can be of any help please email me. Wanda in TX In a message dated 7/26/2006 3:52:16 P.M.
