Guest guest
Hello, My hubby was on Pacificare and it was a nightmare here in Texas. Most of the doctors refused to accept it because they do NOT pay there bills. It reached the point where the state insurance commission got involved and the got in a lot of trouble. It reached a point where docs and hospitals were demanding payment upfront and you wait to get your money from the insurance company. They also refused claims for most of my meds saying that I need to go on a med in there formulary first before going to some of the high dollar meds...the only problem was that I was allergic to what they wanted me to take. They still would not approve payment!!!! I finally threatened them with legal action for trying to force me to take a drug that I was allergic to and could kill me. After that any calls to them pertaining to our insurance was sent to a special person. I guess I was labeled a trouble maker and they have people to answer those calls. I hope since then maybe with all the law suites, complaints and Texas insurance commission getting involved things should be better.
