I found the webpage with the info on alpha lipoic acid, and the caution about B12. Here's the link:

CAUTION:People with a B-12 deficiency, should avoid alpha lipoic acid as this may cause a worsening of symptoms. If a B-12 deficiency is suspected, do not use alpha lipoic acid until consulting with your health care professional.

However, I think the benefits of using ALA are wonderful once you address the B12 issue.
