Hi,

I am looking for ideas and answers. I was diagnosed with

dermatomyositis in September. Am on 6 tabs of

methotrexate moving up to 8 and had to go back on low dose

prednisone - 10 mg. It may not be enough. Also had more trouble with

my asthma, needing Advair in addition to an as needed inhaler and the

prednisone.

My muscle enzymes are normal but I have more weakness in my pelvis

and hips. Still within normal range because I used to jog, so

everything's relative. Hard to get up from an on-the-ground position,

very low stamina, mo more jogging.

ANYWAY, I have had low back aches and migraines for years.

The last couple years I realized that my back can also go out with no

triggers, and then after a day or so of being immobilized, I can

suddenly be fine with no recovery period. This was interesting to

note and not in line with how I understood my condition or what my

chiropractor thought or x-rays showed.

Then one time, over a year ago, something happened with my ankle. I

woke up and could put no weight on it. Had to be on crutches for two

days and then it cleared up as mysteriously as it came.

Then this past weekend, I developed a severe pain in my right bicep

that lasted for two days. I could not turn my car keys in the

ignition without the support of the hand from my other arm. Then

poof! Gone. Everything fine.

I also get intermittent pins and needle sensations.

Any ideas anyone????

Thanks very much.
