LOL! I don't get steps riding my bike. It doesn't read cycling movements.

LOL! you are too funny michelle!

i forgot to say that i took my son's bike out yesterday for a 25

min ride. it was windy and kind of hard going, even in an easy

gear. but i made it! the fitbit recorded around 900 steps

during that time, but i did get off and walk a bit here and there

because i was actually looking for chinook who had taken off.

so i dont know if the steps were from the biking or not. i

will do another experiment and let you know :)

oh darn. my step counts are going to be going down then. i

suspect that my walking time will suffer because i will be biking

instead. maybe i can do some workouts that are half walking

and half biking. chinook behaves better with the bike after he

has been walked for a while first anyway. the weather sucks

now, so i wont be biking much for at least another week. i

havent had a new bike in many years (like 15?) so im excited to

not be riding an oldie anymore.

Carolyn, they are BEAUTIFUL!  I want a pic of you on it for the home page por favor???It looks like I'll be getting my mountain bike on the road finally too!  Whether I do the triathalon this June or not it looks like I'll be doing some long bike rides with a lady from the gym name Terri.  That will be so cool!

Anyway, I look forward to hearing about your outdoor rides like I do 's.  Is DH excited too?

thankyou pink! for sure!! i will try to get chinook in the

pic as well :)

> It looks like I'll be getting my mountain bike on the road

yay!! thats excellent. and there you go working out with a

friend again! you have alot of workout buddies, that is so

awesome. now if we can get the pizza-eating and beer-drinking

people to join in then life would be really great! LOLOL

well, i dont do long distances. in traffic and weather like

angelica does.. usually i would take chinook for 2-3 miles (i let

the speed go up and down depending on what he feels like doing),

then i would go for another 3-5 miles on my own, at my own pace.

no traffic and only in nice weather :)

dh is excited, he hasnt had a bike at all in many years. he

says that he doesnt remember EVER having a brand-new bike in his

whole life! (he had quite a limited childhood with 7 brothers

& sisters). dh wants to go biking as a family, which surprised

me, but i know he will take off on me, as he likes to ride much

faster than i do. but that will be ok, at least we will be out

there.

How cool that DH finally gets a new bike!  Family rides sound like a great way to bond!  I don't like riding out into traffic either, so I'm looking forward to doing some special bike routes with Terri from the gym!

Let us know how it goes!
