Guest guest
gilad rotation day 5 (friday) called for gilad's step aerobics workout. with intro, the workout, abs and bit of a stretch at the end, it ends around 60 mins. the intro was hilarious... gilad rides up on a motorcycle (maybe a harley, im not sure) and he is wearing his high-waisted mom jeans. he gets off and stands there talking about the workout and i swear these jeans come up to his armpits, and he is wearing a black leather belt with them. what a sight! too funny! he is wearing a nice black 'bodies in motion' tshirt though. hmmmm, what year was this made in anyway? vhs release date was 2001. were we wearing mom jeans then? the footage seems older than that also because the girls are wearing body suits that are really high cut on the hips in the workout. seems more like 80's fashions. anyway, he workout was fine for a beginner, although it is on the long side so some stamina is needed. overall it is basic steady state cardio, but gilad does add in some hops/propulsion moves for those who are intermediate. steps include up/down with a tap to change lead, knee-ups, tap behind, leg lift corner corner, etc. the hardest thing he did was going over the top. gilad makes up a total of 4 combos. he teaches one, repeats it a million times, teaches the next. repeats it a million times. puts the two combos together and repeats that a million times. then he does the same thing with the next 2 combos, until at the end he has one big 4 part combo which he then repeats a million times. each combo was well constructed and gilad cues everything very well. he tries to get in some side comments like 'how are you doing?' but can barely fit those in because he is too busy barking the cues. the pace is quick and i was sweaty by the end of it all but i was sick of the repetition. the backgrounders follow along perfectly. except for a older gentleman at the far end, who looked fantastic for his age, but was struggling to follow the warm-up. the camera-person kept cutting him off of the screen and he was shown only briefly here or there through the whole workout. after stepping gilad does 6 mins of abs with feet up on the step. oh heck, all crunch variations again... argh! i did most of them and did the lower ab crunches because i skipped those the other day. ok, so yes this is sunday and im just reporting fridays workouts. so im a bit behind in my rotation and it is the end of the week. i still owe two episodes of total body sculpt and a walk. i really wish i could do those right now but i have to do the grocery shopping instead ttyl, :*carolyn. Guest guest
I remember that workout - The choreography was very disappointing - I gave that one away gladly. I don't think Gilad ever got the hang of step.Stepping lightly,Catlin
Guest guest
Hi Carolyn, sorry you didn't the this Gilad workout. I prefer his Total body sculpt workouts and Bodies in Motion, of course! Do you have Gilad's New workout from, I think 1995 or 2005? It's about an hour...does it repeat a lot? I HATE doing long workouts! 30 to 45 minutes is long enough.
