It has a very different feel than the RPM workouts I've done. Like RPM it is filmed, giving it an artsier feel than the "live" type workout videos, giving it an artsier feel. The instructor, Josh, talks A LOT, almost constantly, so I can see why they send this to you as your first video. He really gives you a mental landscape and puts you in touch with your body and feelings throughout the workout. The people in the class are all extremely fit. The music is tribal beats and techno instrumentals, nothing recognizable from the radio, so you would really focus on what Josh is saying. This would be a great workout on a "pensive" day, but on days when you are emotional and want to really meld with the music this wouldn't be your dvd of choice, though I can tell it's an intense workout. you are at 80%-92% of your maximum heart rate range for the bulk of the 62 minute workout. Since there's a chance I'll be doing a triathalon in June, spinning, biking outside, and swimming will need to be increased. I don't need to win but would like a descent, medium score! Guest guest
How cool you got to train with him in person, Judy! I like that in this video you do get a great education out of it and will get the full Spinning experience from it as a result. Some days I'm all about the mecanics of the workout, and other days I'm all feeling, I just want to become the music and express myself with it with drills that match.. josh rocks.. took some courses under him. he was a competitive bikerjudy To: Exercise Videos <exercisevideos > Sent: Saturday, March 24, 2012 10:27 PM Subject: Received my first Mad Dogg / ny G Spinning DVD - Heart Racer I haven't done it yet, but skimmed parts of it.
