Hi,

Trazodone can cause priapism especially in men, which is a dangerous

condition.

Which orthomolecular treatment did you exactly (dose, concentration)

have for which precise condition? How long were you treated with this

and what were the results?

I am wondering the same thing--has anyone taken L

tyrosene? I feel as if i have low dopamine and

wondered how well it breaks down--isnt there a vitamin

or supplement that makes it convert even easier? Seems

like i read this somewhere, but i cant remember.

Taken on empty stomach it works, but only once or twice in a long

while. Then it loses its effect. I've been trying Rhodiola rosea

(again) lately it's much better than L-Tyrosine.

i was warned of priaprism by one doctor, and was thankful to know that immediate

medical intervention would have been necessary if it were to occur.

i did an overall orthomollecular treatment of sorts for depresssion. dr. garrett

(winchester,

ky) used muscle response testing to ascertain problems and treat with standard

process

whole food supplements. i found him by contacting the journal for

orthomollecular

medicine out of toronto, canada. i started in april of '07 and have had very

positive results,

although no magic fix.

Taking one capsule of Standardized Rhodiola root extract (salidrozid

3 mg [% 1], polifenol 60 mg [% 24]) 250 mg, Rhodiola root powder

100 mg daily. Prveously I was taking 2 to 3 capsulers, but then the

effects weren't that strong. Didn't take l-tyrosine nowadays but

added horny goat weed in, did me well i guess.

Ive seen supplements that come mixed with tyrosine and rhodiola

together because they say rhodiola helps to absorb tyrosine better.

You can ask that on a professional webforum about fytotherapy or

orthomolecular medicine. Or try a Google search with both search terms

together.

For several medical experiments it makes sense to start with an

extreme low dosage of the new medicine. This can be done by crushing

the tablet. This low dosage of the medicine might be gradually

increased if no side effects are present. This is a safety procedure,

but of course no guarantee for a safe therapy. And antibiotics may not

be used in this way, but should be used exactly following the

prescription of the doctor to prevent antibiotic-resistent bacteria.

(Antibiotic treatment may also never be stopped too early!)

But I would advice always to consult a doctor (or an alternative

therapist that also has a medical degree) before experimenting with

some new treatment. And I would prefer to do also extensive study on

the internet about any new treatment and about the medical conditions

that one has.

nemo, do you think mucuna puriens would be a better long term alternative to

tyrosine

(which has worked great for me so far)?

if so, do you recommend a particular brand? i can't find it in stock anywhere

here in

cincinnati.

thanks!

Have you had your free/bioavailable testosterone checked? I would

recomend a dopamine agonist or reuptake inhibitor plus somehting to

make your Nitiric Oxide levels return to normal. eg. cialis, viagra. I

have found that the combination of the two things effectively allows

you to have a normal sex life.

These are the two main things that help deal with pssd effectively in

my opinion. I have not tried any herbal supplimnets that have a strong

effect.

you could cycle the two one two weeks and the other for two weeks,

ive read that consuming amino acids constantly isnt a good thing to

do as it creates i think ammonia as by product, so it probably would

be a good idea to limit this from happening.
