Guest guest
Oops, I forget to mention that I also have Sjogren's. Thanks! New and Mouth Sores Hi. I am new. Both to RA and this group. I have had problems for 2 1/2 years, but most of it went away during my pregnancy and nursing. I broke my foot, and when the swelling did not go away a bone scan showed inflammatory arthritis. That with the joint swelling and pain got me RA. I am sero-negative so the scan went a long way to getting me a diagnosis. I really did not have a lot of problems at first, but I started Plaquenil because of my foot. I started taking 200 mg twice a day. Then I had a lot of problems with my joints and ended up back in my rheumatologist office. I had a few mouth ulcers, and I was loosing lots of hair so he cut me back to once a day. In the last month I have done two 6 day prednisone tapers and now I take 5 mg a day. This afternoon I started getting more mouth ulcers. Now I have like 6, and they just keep popping up. Actually my mouth tingles just a little also now that I really think about it. I did this before my pregnancy with Relafen (I think). It was a NSAID. So now I can not take a lot of those. I also take synthroid. I can not find mouth ulcers listed as a side effect. I go back to my dr on Tuesday. Should I just let this go until then or should I call the dr. Do rheumatologist go on call on the weekend or should I just call my gp? Thanks, G
