Guest guest
I just found out, after being told I wouldn't have to worry about it, that I will no longer be able to afford to do my Humira shots!!! I am livid! My Dr. told me that she would keep giving me these cards which would pick up whatever charge my insurance would't cover, but found out it is one per patient!! It would cost me about (honestly) $2500.00 a month out of pocket! I love love love what it does for my RA, and can't imagine going back to suffering all over again, but come on! Who has THAT kind of money hanging around. Any suggestions what to do??? Help! Sandy
Guest guest
Hi Sandy, Did you ask your Dr. about the possibility of Patient Assistance. I dont know what kind of money you've got coming in so it may not even be relevant, but they offer it sometimes for people who are at a certain (low) income level. I dont know if they would do it since you do have insurance, but it's worth looking into. I think it is sopposed to be a temporary fix for people in a bad situation.....and I'd say this counts! Hope this helps. Best of luck. If you have more questions I will tell you what tid-bits I know. --- sandradee_200340 <mrssdaniels2@...> wrote: > I just found out, after being told I wouldn't have > to worry about it, > that I will no longer be able to afford to do my > Humira shots!!! Guest guest
Sandy --- Something is wrong with your scenario -- Your insurance is only paying for at best 25% of your insurance -- Is that right? I've only got my script filled once at a drugstore (my first one) and it was $2800 for 4 - 40mg shots....A one month supply -- My cost was less with insurance. And then I went to ordering a 3 month supply and the cost listed on the receipt that tells you how much you saved with your prescription coverage lists the cost at $8000.00..... I'd look into that if I were you! Somethings wrong with the picture..... Guest guest
Go to the Humira site www.humira.com and click on Patient Programs. It has some information there. I hope that you are able to get assistance with your meds. Guest guest
Look on your Humeri box, or go to their web site, and there is a 1-800 number to call. Call it, Humeri has several different patient asstiance programs. Depending upon your income you might qualify for one! I get my Humeri thru therm, I get three month supply at a time for free. But they also have different programs where they help with insurance deductibles and so forth. The call is free and it really is worth it to take the time and call them. Once you approved for one of the programs you are approved for an entire year. If I can be of any more help please feel free to email me at Bizzare48@.... in WI N2kids@... wrote: In a message dated 4/27/2006 9:36:46 PM Central Standard Time, mrssdaniels2@... writes: I just found out, after being told I wouldn't have to worry about it, that I will no longer be able to afford to do my Humira shots!!! Guest guest
Sandy Yes, I remember talking to you. Originally yes, Dr, Trotter did fill out the paperwork and set everything up for me, but it is shipped to my home. But since then I have joined a group called Med Advocates, you might have seen a write up for them in the paper if you get the Journal. They can help me get Humeri or remicade. The cost for Med advocates is 30.00 dollars a month. They search out and find and fill out forms for prescription assitiance programs for you. Thu them I get lexapro and Ultracet ( these two alone would cost me 500.00 dollars a month) for free, and several other drugs that I pay 15 or 18 dollars for a three month supply. They also renew any asstiance programs so you don't need to keep track of them, you usually get three months of medication at a time, they deal with the doctors office and everything, after you fill out original paperwork, you just need to call them when you get a new prescription, as you can tell, I really like this service. Even though money has been very tight for me, its program has been so worth the cost. The office is located out by the girl scouts building. Guest guest
My Mom has been on Humira for a little over a year. She received assistance with the premiums through www.patientaccessnetwork.org There's no way she would be able to afford it without their help. Good luck.
