Guest guest
ive just been reading the basic explanation of how an ssri works on wiki. " In the brain, messages are passed between two nerve cells via a synapse, a small gap between the cells. The cell that sends the information releases neurotransmitters (of which serotonin is one) into that gap. The neurotransmitters are then recognized by receptors on the surface of the recipient (postsynaptic) cell, which upon this stimulation, in turn, relays the signal. About 10% of the neurotransmitters are lost in this process; the other 90% are released from the receptors and taken up again by monoamine transporters into the sending (presynaptic) cell (a process called reuptake). " the bit that was most interesting from that description was this. " About 10% of the neurotransmitters are lost in this process; the other 90% are released from the receptors and taken up again by monoamine transporters into the sending (presynaptic) cell " if 10% of the neurotransmitters are lost purely because of there releace from the neuron (probably broken down by monoamine oxidase) and 90% are taken back to the sending cell or neuron by the serotonin transporter. then surly taking an ssri that inhibits the serotonin transporters ability to accomplish this task, would in effect make changes to this 10% loss and 90% re-uptake. bacically increasing the ammount of serotonin lost from destruction by monoamine oxidase (the enzyme which breaks down the serotonin neurotransmitters & others) THIS HAS TO BE THE CASE! the ssris also inhibit other transporters but with less of an effect, including dopamine transporters. that would lead to the same increase in destruction of dopamine, would it not? i only took ssris for no longer than two weeks maximum, to get pssd. during those two weeks i had lots and lots of sex. im surtain its this process that has wiped away most of my sexuality, feelings and desires regarding sex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! an ssri is bacically a vacuum or a self destruct time bomb for your neurotransmitters once they are released!!!! im surtain this is the effect they have!!!!!!
