Guest guest
Hi My jaw and neck have always given me problems. Sorry to hear you're in so much pain. One new thing that has really helped me is Cymbalta. I don't know if you've heard about it but my pain has gone down dramatically in the last few months. I guess diabetics use it for nerve pain and others for depression. Take Care Babs
Guest guest
Hi everyone. I am sorry I don't post here as often as I used to. Since being diagnosed with MS, I have had hard enough time dealing with it all. Even though that is in a bit of remission right now (thank God!), my RA is terrible lately. I woke up at 5am in excruciating pain. My right hip and knee were locked, but I managed to get them moving again. More painful is my jaw (both sides), and my neck are locked as well. I have taken my pain meds and muscle relaxants and am going to rest in hopes it will be better when I get up. I have had this problem with my hands and shoulders in the past, but not the jaw and neck at the same time. The hips and knees are almost a nightly occurance lately. I am right off the Prednisone as I had to taper off in order to have several day procedures done for the MS. I have been debating going back on it as I've gained 60 pounds since taking it a year and a half ago. Part of that is due to the sedentary lifestyle I now lead, and the other part is that the drug is infamous for weight gain. In addition, my anti- depressant (Zoloft), is said to make people gain as well. I don't know what to do. The Prednisone improves my quality of life, but I hate the weight gain as it is NOT good for my joints. I also find it more painful to wean off and on it for all the tests, and procedures I require. Okay, done my vent for the day. Thanks so much for listening. Waking up in pain at 5am is NOT a good way to start the day. I will go back to sleep and hope that the meds will kick in and that I am better soon. in Canada
Guest guest
That sounds terrible, . What other options besides prednisone are your physicians offering you? I'm assuming the anti-TNF blockers are out, but there are still other choices. Not an MD I'll tell you where to go!
