Guest guest
This is my first time posting and I want to thank the owners/moderators of the group for the information and data, case reports, etc. it's made available to me. There are some studies going on in the second link of the previous post that sound intersting, like #73- 'Effect of Antidepressants on Sex Hormone Levels and Sexual Functioning', as well as others that knowing what I know firsthand horrify me (A Controlled Trial of Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors Added to Stimulant Medication in Youth With Severe Mood Dysregulation, Study to Evaluate the Effectiveness of Certain Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI) Antidepressants During Pregnancy and Evaluate Newborn Outcomes, etc.). Other than what's available in the files section here, which is certainly something, I haven't come across much in the way of studies on the effects of long term use, 'prolonged' side effects, effects of discontinuation itself, etc. I'm wondering what the circumstances realistically have to be for research in these areas to be undertaken? Is it a possibility in the near future, an eventual inevitability, unlikely to happen in my lifetime? Who needs to be roused to fund such research, that sort of thing. > > > ask them if they will support a trial of this kind to discover if > > > these drugs cause persistant sexuall effects that continue long > after > > > you stop using them. > > > > > >

Guest guest
Well there does not seem to be anyone answering over at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center. I did get the number for the man in charge of the SSRI trails, Dr. Hellerstein, private practice. I think I will make a appointment with him and see what he says about PSSD. Most likely it will be a waste of money but hey a desperate. Reading through the clical trail's web site on sexual dysfunction and SSRIs I see they claim its all reversible like almost all other doctors. My bet he will say that its must be something elese and referr me to a Urologist and percribe Wellibutrin and ignore me when I tell him I been to 7 Urologists, been tested for evrything and had no luck with Wellibutrin. But hey maybe I will get lucky and find a doctor interested to get the the bottom of this. > > > > > > > ask them if they will support a trial of this kind to discover if > > > > > > > these drugs cause persistant sexuall effects that continue long > > > > > after > > > > > > > you stop using them. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
I finally got hold of Dr. Hellerstein and have a appointment with him on the 21st. He was more open minded about PSSD then I had first suspected. I have already recieved a e-mail from a nother group member wanting me to ask him about his Requip trial. If the group has any other questions, please let me know. Also has anyone tried Requip for PSSD and it NOT work? I read a post on another site were someone who had PSSD had a permanent response to 1 MG a day with complete resolution of symptoms. The post also reported it working very well even with those on SSRIs. I did not have any reponse to Wellbutrin as have many here, so I am skeptical of Requip which also works by increasing Dopamine but maybe the different method of action might produce a different result. > > > > > > > > ask them if they will support a trial of this kind to discover if > > > > > > > > these drugs cause persistant sexuall effects that continue long > > > > > > after > > > > > > > > you stop using them. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
I would advise taking a look at the several hundred patient reports and ratings of their expreience with Requip on askapatient.com before you consider it. > > > > > > > > > ask them if they will support a trial of this kind to discover if > > > > > > > > > these drugs cause persistant sexuall effects that continue long > > > > > > > after > > > > > > > > > you stop using them. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
