First the update: I went to my podiatrist today and because I'm doing better (Saturday was truly awful but it was the only really bad day the whole week) we'll continue with ultrasound treatments in his office for now, no need for physical therapy like he was originally thinking. The u/s should ease the heel pain too (good, I was worried about him adjusting my orthotics and my toes getting messed up because that happened once before). No more shots either but he gave me a new prescription for Meloxicam (anti-inflammatory). I'm just finishing 30 days on it (after doing 30 then a break for about a month) and will do another 30 now. So, we're stepping down the treatments... hopefully it remains good and continues to improve... crossing fingers (but not toes!) and holding breath...

Workout: I decided to continue with the PowerFit stuff. I finished the original series and am now working on the Harmony workouts. I did workout 1 Cardio - Move It. It was okay. The music was almost inaudible and boring though. The moves are pretty standard and easy to follow (march, kick, side steps, grapevine, v-step and basic). She also throws in a pivot kick and pivot to a quick side lunge. I found the pivoting and lateral movements hard on my toes so I went carefully and very low intensity with most of the workout. You could easily modify this one up though with power movements ( even says so about one of the moves, but doesn't show it and neither do the backgrounders). The only thing (besides the music) I didn't like was the stuff with the band. It is a very Firm-like gadget in this. You put it on the floor and have to step over it, like a game. I hated that because I wasn't sure if I'd slide or get stuck on it funny if I stepped on it and also felt like I was paying too much attention to that and stepping carefully and I wasn't moving fluidly and enjoying moving. I noticed that in another of these workouts too, even when I wasn't being super careful about my feet, I didn't like it. Then you pick it up and use it to circle around a bit for upper body but not with any real resistance (though I did). That was okay but totally unnecessary. She would have been better off not using it at all in the cardio workouts, I think.

So, this one was okay but not great. Good enough for today though.
