Guest guest
HI all, Saw my PCP yesterday. Went in b/c my knee is alot worse. I have a meniscal tear (there since '95, dx'ed in '98). Was supposed to have arthroscopic surgery, but then had all my back probs, and it went by the wayside. Well, on top of that, my femur (the part closest to my knee) is necrotic from long term, high dose pred. Doc is sending me to the ortho surgeon, and I may be looking at a knee replacement. Of course my doc is like, well, I want to be out of town when they do it, b/c I don't want to be around when they try to get you off the vent. I have been intubated 13x for severe asthma and resp. failure. Anyway, I am scared about the knee. Don't know for sure yet if it will be a replacement, but with all the other probs, don't really see another option. If I have to have it done, want to do it now, before the kids are out for the summer. Just worried about our youngest, he is 7 and has Downs and Autism, and doesn't understand now why mommy cant pick him up sometimes (he is 42 lbs is why!) I see my rheum. on the 27th and will be discussing when to start Remicade. Other stuff....Angel Food. If you have it in your area, do it. I get $25/month in foodstamps, and that is what we use it for ,b/c its alot more than $25 worth of food. And having 2 kids, the chicken tenders are great, because they love them. Idiots in public ....my story....last year,, I was at Walgreens. I parked in a handicapped spot (have my placard, etc). I go back out, someone has parked on the lined part , and I can't even open my door let alone get in the car. So I go back in to complain and have them page the idiot. An older man at thecounter says, " your so fat, you need to park out far and walk. " I lost it. I turned to him and said, " tell you what, you take the asthma, the diabetes, the hospitalizations, the bills, and the RA, oh, and you can have the spine surgery, too, (I then lifted up my tshirt to show him my scar), and I'll park across the street and walk here, no problem, I'd love to be able to. " He turned red and walked out.The cashiers applauded me. Now, anyone who is with me tends to run interference in public so that I don't expose myself again T --------------------------------- Photos Ring in the New Year with Photo Calendars. Guest guest
Sorry about your prob's. Go girl, go, about telling the guy off, tho. My hubby tends to run interference for me because of that stuff, too. Ive told more than one person that its not only common sense, its common courtesy to look at the person you are speaking to. People really can be insensitive jerks sometimes. Take care, T <spinningdyke@...> wrote: HI all, Saw my PCP yesterday. Went in b/c my knee is alot worse.
