Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I don't think I posted my workout yesterday - but it was Tracie Long's KickBack which is from her Focus series. All the Focus workouts are around 30 min. Kickback is classified as "cardio" for my Tracie Long rotation, and I would tend to agree that it is more cardio than strength. There are 3 chapters - first one is punches w/ light weights and a focus on the upper body, second chapter works the legs w/ kicks and weights and the final chapter is on the floor. I actually don't remember a whole lot, but I did enjoy it and worked up a nice sweat. I also added on the flexibility flow from Shiva Rea's Yoga for Beginners. I don't always enjoy Shiva's yoga - can't put my finger on it exactly - I liked Yoga Shakti, but didn't love the rest. This one looks promising and I think I will attempt the whole thing on Wednesday which is a "rest" day on my rotation. This one is a library borrow that is due Friday, so I guess I should try to get it done! Today I did Tracie's Longevity - Leaning Out, which is classified as "Weights" - I would agree, except for a short cardio segment, you are working w/ weights the whole time. I would describe this one as a FIRM style workout - it isn't traditional weight lifting where you work a body part the move on to the next, and so on. It includes more "functional" exercises and compound/combined movements - all of which I really like (and I like almost all FIRM workouts and that style of training). So - overall, this one was a winner for me! It starts w/ a dynamic warm-up, moves on to weight work, then a cardio section (basic, doesn't take up much space either, which is a plus for me), then more weights standing, on to the floor for floorwork for upper body (push-ups and variations), lower body (legs lifts) and abs. She does a brief stretch at the end. I should have added on more stretching, but I tend to get bored....so I didn't.... Tomorrow is Step Forward, I'm actually enjoying having the structure of a written rotation to follow for right now. I'm still on the search for a dog - but I'm feeling like I have to take a step back and let it all just come together in its own time. Talk to everyne later!Donna
