Guest guest
Prayers are headed your way!! Been there, done that too many times. What field of work is he in? Indyrose > > DH just got word yesterday that his job is being eliminated. The company is losing their last client for his department and they're closing up the department. The economy is improving but we're still close to Detroit which means it isn't great so I'm nervous (okay, scared is a better word but trying to trust God who has brought us through so many things before). He is being paid through May 31 (his last paycheck) but we don't know if our health insurance will be paid for June yet. Since there's very little work to do (and hasn't been much for a while, we should have seen this coming but ignored it) his boss told him he can come in as long as he wants to or clear out and do what he wants (like look for a new job) but he'll still be paid for the month. I'm not sure what his plan is but he didn't clear out his stuff Friday so he'll probably at least go in for a while on Monday. We've been through this before, most recently at the end of 2008 and I hate the anxiety most of all. He already started making contacts and applying for jobs as of yesterday afternoon (after his boss told him to go home, he was hanging around trying to work after being told and his boss felt bad and told him he meant for him to take the rest of the day off for sure) so that was good. I started making contacts at WW telling everyone I can sub for them and telling my At Work coordinator that I can take on more classes. I even emailed my assistant mangager and asked about full or part-time positions at headquarters. We'll see what happens. Anyway, any kind thoughts and prayers sent our way will be much appreciated. We haven't told the kids yet, but probably will tonight. I know it will eventually work out but this stinks being in the middle of it first. > > I'm on my way to a Mother-Daughter Banquet at church, I hate these things but I'm going. > > >

Guest guest
Thank you so much, ! Yes, I remember you telling me about and remember when you were there. We told the kids tonight and were actually able to be honestly somewhat positive about it. They were sweet too. started thinking about friends' parents that might know of jobs and both kids know Dave's boss because we know them from church (they knew he was out of work and needed someone so they asked him to come work for them 3 years ago). Miriam was concerned about their family (they have 2 young kids too) and asked if they still had their business (they do but are shutting down part of it). After we told them we played games and had junk food for our weekly family night. Before that Dave was on the computer emailing with a bunch of friends still in the industry so, while we don't have any solid leads, we have people looking for opportunities for him while he looks himself too. His best friend is the ultimate networker too and is helping Dave a lot. It better here now than it was in 2008 too, when he was laid off last, so hopefully this won't last too long... I hope not anyway. Thanks for the prayers, your note meant a lot to me. Re: prayers please Anyway, any kind thoughts and prayers sent our way will be much appreciated. Guest guest
It sounds like you have some great kids, . It also sounds like you are being positive, which is something I lack in during times like this. ~~ Sent from my Thunderbolt 4GLTE ----- Reply message -----To: <exercisevideos >Subject: prayers pleaseDate: Sat, May 12, 2012 9:43 pm Thank you so much, ! Guest guest
, I'm so sorry to hear about that. My husband was out of work for 3 years, except for side jobs once in awhile, and it was very rough. (He's been finally working again for 6 months now.) But I know exactly what you are going through, and how much of a mental strain it is. I am hoping and praying for the best for your family in the coming weeks, and I hope your husband finds a new job very soon! Ronda > > DH just got word yesterday that his job is being eliminated. Guest guest
Thank you, ! They can be absolute terrors, especially to each other, but they are both wonderful too. I'm a LOT better than I was yesterday but was struggling a lot more earlier today. I was able to set it aside while I was at work (my job makes it easy, since I lead WW meetings I have to be focused on my members and not myself and I do 3 meetings in a row on Saturdays) so that helped, then we were busy at the luncheon at church and I was able to tell my MIL & SIL (two wonderful women and friends to me) and that helped too. Dave's sister ended up calling him this evening to talk with him too and her wonderful support helped him out too. We'll see how tomorrow goes. I think it will continue to be a rollercoaster, but hopefully not with so much of the stomach rolling drops I felt yesterday and earlier today. Guest guest
, I'm so sorry to hear what happened with your husband's department. I will say a prayer that he finds a job FAST. Living in Michigan I know how bad our economy is and that it can be hard to find a job. I hope that he will be able to find one right away.Take care, JenSubject: prayers pleaseTo: exercisevideos Date: Saturday, May 12, 2012, 12:56 PM DH just got word yesterday that his job is being eliminated.
