you posted a good review of this workout donna!

i quite enjoyed xfactor day 1 and will have no problem doing this

workout twice this week. like you said, it is quite do-able

yet challenging at the same time. 40 mins incl warmup and

cooldown.

i really like nahesi crawford, he is encouraging, gives good

form pointers, talks about modifications, does most of the

workout, looks great. he is not annoying in any way.

the two male backgrounders are also very good. no shirts on the

3 guys, love that! lol. the female is ok, she keeps a constant

smile and is obviously very fit, but whoa on those wild punches.

she shows modifications which is helpful.

a very athletic workout, i really liked all of the body weight

exercises. time went by very fast, and there is no messing

around on the second run-through of the circuit. nahesi gives

us breathers which is nice... i didnt take the first one but did

take one later on. overall, the workout was well structured.

i like that you can go at your own pace for a certain time

period... and with modifications, anyone can try their best at

this workout and succeed.

the warmup is good, usually i have to do my own, but this one was

adequate. cooldown was just that - a cooldown, not much in the

way of effective stretching (downdog and cobra, childs pose,

thats about it). i will have to do my own stretches after i get

my walk done, but that is ok, im used to doing that as few video

workouts seem to have much of an effective stretch at the end.

the only exercise that gave me a bit of trouble was the frog

jumps. i did the first circuit well, but had to modify down a

bit for the second run-through. which is ok! next time i will

jump through both circuits :)

i got sweaty and was breathing heavy and i feel worked out,

especially in the upper body and core. the legs can withstand

some more, so im going out for a walk in the rain with chinook.

:*carolyn.

i meant to add that i got dizzy a couple of times during 'xfactor

1' due to getting down and up too fast! for ex. - going on

my belly for 'scuba diver' then getting up to do 'frog jumps'.

i will see if i feel that way again when i do this workout on

thurs. may have to use the pause button which makes me feel

pretty old...LOLOL i remember getting dizzy doing tony hortons

power half hour abs' which is really up/down alot and moves fast.

Hi Everyone!

Today I started the Weider X-Factor ST rotation. This is an 8 disc set (w/ a few bonus DVDs - yoga, abs, and glutes/thighs). For each week you do one disc 3X (so you do Week # 1's workout 3X a week for the first week, Week # 2's workout 3X a week for the second week and so on). The workouts are all body-weight circuits. Today was Week # 1- it was actually very doable but challenging at the same time. The circuits are set up so that you do one exercise for 30 sec, the next exercise for 45 sec and the last exercise for 90 sec. If I remember correctly there were 4 circuits - you take a water break after the first 2, then another water break, then you repeat the 4 circuits all over again. I found this workout to be very core focused - planks, push-ups, different stabilization exercises, work for the back (supermans, swimming), etc. Also some squats (and variations), lunges and plyo exercises. The instructor is actually quite good and motivating (and not

"in your face" as I feared from the clips). There are three background exercisers, with one demonstrating easier versions of the exercises. It is basically a "go at your own pace" workout - as the backgrounders are not synched together and you just do what you can, at your own pace for the alotted time. The time went by pretty quickly - and the dread factor was low (at least for this one - since, presumably it is the easiest one in the series!) Music was bland, but there is an option to play the DVD w/ no music, so you can always add your own. It would just be for background, though, b/c you really don't follow any particular beat - After X-Factor I did AM Conditioning for Weight Loss w/ Suzanne Deason. A 30-ish minute basic yoga practice. I love Suzanne's yoga for her thorough instruction and excellent use of props!Ok - off to start the day - we have church and then my DD has a refresher course of swim lessons (I bought her a block of 4

private lessons to get back up to speed for summer - last summer she made a lot of progress since she was in the pool every day for a month!). I figure I want her to be in good swimming shape for summer camp!Talk to everyone later!Donna

Don't worry about falling behind, Judy, as I'm on the 3 X workouts before moving on plan and I will be at this for quite awhile.  It's all good!  Hugs

> Aren't you gong to do it three days a week?

personally im doing xfactor 3 days a week...

day 1 is the xfactor weekly workout

day 3 is the xfactor lower body, abs and yoga workouts

day 5 is the xfactor weekly workout again.

after a few weeks i will probably start subbing for the lower,

abs and yoga (you know me!) so i will be down to 2 days a week of

xfactor at that time. but still following the structure of the

rotation of course :)

I will be doing the weekly workout 3x before moving on in addition to the legs, glutes and yoga day, so 4 X Factor days per phase. I will be doing this one for a loooong time :)

maybe.. maybe not.. my work schedule is nuts and doing dog shows every weekend to keep my dog in top 5show was not so good this weekend.. in dog agility your dog must hit the yellow part of some of the equipment called contacts.. my boy normally is good but he has been pushing me and leaving early (before I release him)..so he was walked off course every time.. waste of $$ as we don't qualify or get points towards top 5 but I can't have him running thru the contact zones (some people do train that .. it is faster but he is big boy and that would be scary) and going off course.. oh well.. wildly my 11 yo dog is in the older dog height called preferred and is winning.. she loves it and does not look old.. in human years she is nearly 80! I call her my COB .. crazy old

The frog jumps killed me, too. I'm sure I didn't do nearly as many as they did b/c I was slow!

Still, I really liked this and I do like that you go at your own pace and do the best you can.

I agree that woman's punching form was crazy!!!Glad to be rotating again w/ you!!!Donna

OK excuse the ignorance but I thought xfactor was a TV show not an

exercise routine. I have not a clue about most of these posts. LOL

I don't watch TV so that doesn't help 'cause xfactor might not even be a

TV show. Oh well ;0)
