Guest guest
I guess I have trouble understanding some things. I've been on MTX for 16 years or so, and haven't been really sick for longer than that. In fact, since I quit smoking in 1988, I haven't had much of a cold until I had the flu that woke up my RA. In the past, I'd suffer a cold in or around August of each year that really made me miserable. Now, I don't even get the sniffles and never thought of stopping my MTX. Normal viruses don't seem to work on me, although I'm exposed to most of the bugs my daughter and granddaughter have, and the ones Betty has brought in while working with children. Since the RA, we've started taking more vitamins and paying a little more to our general health, so that can help explain the health Betty and I enjoy. Are we just lucky, or is there a method to our madness? I feel bad for those of you that can be so miserable with all the viruses going around but I can't do more than sympathize with you and hope you get better. Guest guest
I was taken off humira because I was having chronic sinus problems so I think they do make you more prone to infections and it makes the infection worse when you have one. I am not quite sure to call if this is just going to be a winter cold. Have people on Enbrel found that when they get sick they get " sicker " ? Thanks for any suggestions! Guest guest
I have been on Enbrel for over two years, and fortunately I don't get sick often, either. When I get a cold, if I feel too bad, I go to my PCP. She decides whether I need an antibiotic or not. I tend to be really cautious about this, and delay my Enbrel shot until I get better.
