Guest guest
good going! I think I have this one on VHS....or maybe it is on a compilation DVD that I have. Either way, it is tough! If you run across it PM Pilates by Ana Caban is also a toughie! Way to go on the push-ups. I hope DH's interview goes well - networking at least is something! Prayers for you for peace and for DH getting a job.Donna Subject: quick workoutTo: exercisevideos Date: Tuesday, May 22, 2012, 10:03 AM This morning I did "Pilates Abs" with Ana Caban from Gaiam Abs Conditioning. I just got this from Share the Wealth on VF and got it especially because I was looking for more foot friendly stuff. It has Pilates Abs, a yoga abs workout with Rodney Yee and a balance ball abs workout with Suzanne Deason. Each are 20-30 minutes plus there are interviews with all 3 instructors (which I haven't looked at yet). I had previewed all of them at least a little and found the balance ball would require too much pressure on the toes and the yoga one looked too beginnerish for today (I'm feeling emotional/stressed and needing something really physical: it is a combo of PMS and DH's job ending in 9 days with 1 interview in sight but it is with a contract agency that doesn't have an actual opening for him yet, just want to bring him in and meet him kind of thing). Anyway, I went with this one, even though in the liner notes on the DVD (which included a Q & A with each instructor and a listing of each exercise in each workout, very nice) said it was for people familiar with pilates and who can practice at an intermediate/advanced level. I quickly found out what intermediate/advanced level pilates is and it ain't me! This was TOUGH! Ana leads with a modifer next to her in a beautiful outdoor setting by the beach. I followed Ana at times in the beginning, then started to tire and followed the modifier, then tired more and made up my own modifications (including my "rest your head on the mat, bring your feet down also, now breathe a few breaths and then join in again" modification)! It was REALLY good though and gave me something to shoot for in terms of core strength! Ana gives very clear cues. It is voiceover and the voice and actions matched very well too. After that I did 25 push-ups on knees. I tried doing plank on my toes with Ana (she does it once for only a few seconds at the end, the rest is all on the mat). It hurt so I know I'm sticking with knee push-ups for a while longer and am fine with that. 25 was surprisingly difficult to get out too. I'm enjoying challenging myself to keep adding 5 each time I workout.

Guest guest
I think I'll pass on the PM Pilates for now, I need to work on my core strength more before I even try taking this one on again! :-) Thanks so much for the way to go & the prayers! Tomorrow is the interview. He's also got another recruiter who has a few things he thinks Dave would be suited for and they're planning to talk on the phone tomorrow about those. Another company asked him to look at the jobs on their website and tell them which ones he might be interested in and send them his resume with the list of those jobs so... they're out there... we just need one to be his... preferably soon... I desperately need peace tonight. My son borrowed my cell phone and got it wet at the beach (dripping all over and picking it up while soaking wet) late this afternoon. It seemed to work but would not get a signal and the window on the top half (this is a very old flip phone) was clouded with moisture. I put it aside and looked up what to do on the internet. I took the battery out, took out the sim card and dried the little bit of moisture inside and then sat with a vacuum cleaner near it for 40 minutes trying to suck out any other moisture. Now it is sitting in a bag of rice, hoping that will draw out any other remaining moisture. I am praying it works tomorrow morning. I really, really want a new phone but I really, really don't want to buy one right now. (Mine & DH's phones are both super old (mine especially) and our plan is even older and does not allow for upgrade or replacement phones either.) I read that we did all the wrong things at first, especially turning it on which may have caused a short circuit. Sigh. Guess we'll see what happens. I have a WW class at 6:30 AM so, rather than mess with it at 5:30, before I leave the house, I'm borrowing DH's phone in the morning and letting him play with my phone while I'm gone. I'm also seeing my podiatrist right after the meeting (and hopefully that will go well) and I should still be home before 8:30, hopefully to a working cell phone! quick workoutTo: exercisevideos Date: Tuesday, May 22, 2012, 10:03 AM This morning I did "Pilates Abs" with Ana Caban from Gaiam Abs Conditioning. Guest guest
Thank you so much, ! I go up and down. Things are looking good, lots of contract houses have lots of opportunities, hopefully one is his. Plus I'm telling everyone I can find and several people have given me good leads. I'm trying to stay in the up mood. DH is so that helps. quick workoutDate: Tue, May 22, 2012 10:03 am This morning I did "Pilates Abs" with Ana Caban from Gaiam Abs Conditioning.
