Oh Carolyn - I'm so sorry to hear about your work situation, your conflict w/ DH and being robbed. Sometimes when it rains it really pours, doesn't it? I hope it all gets better soon. I'm glad you were able to get your music going again and get outside - that is always very helpful

hi everyone!sorry that i have been away for a while.i have been working very hard at the deli and have been putting in extra unpaid hours at home setting up a training program. but i am backing down a bit now since the store manager has been acting like an ass and has slightly offended me. my deli boss did not stick up for me, so i declined extra hours on thursday and have made myself unavailable for call-in on this canadian long weekend... to heck with them, i really dont know why i try so hard.also, i got robbed last week - a man entered my house while i was home and stole my new red handbag which contained almost everything in the world that i own. i saw him and his co-thief leaving my property in a big hurry, i think that chinook's presence in the house stopped them from stealing more items.ive been very busy cancelling things and replacing locks. the expense has been high

and insurance wont cover any of it.so i made myself feel a bit better by replacing my stolen old mp3 player with a new ipod nano, which im enjoying very much. since my money and credit cards were stolen, ive been very broke, but i squeaked out enough cash to get my tunes going again, which is very important to me.so i was able to enjoy a couple of really nice walks with chinook in gorgeous summer weather so im trying to find positives in the situation. i was feeling very depressed and upset about work and the theft so having my music and walking has been helping. my dh is also very annoyed and we have been clashing so right now we arent speaking to each other :/i also started work on a flower garden yesterday but had to take it easy because they also stole all of the medication for my ribs.... i cant afford to replace it and my dr wont give me a repeat until a certain amt of time

has elapsed anyway. i have to dig holes for my gladiolus bulbs today, i hope that i dont cause a flare-up ::sigh::i havent had time or energy or motivation to do any workout videos but i do plan on starting something soon, havent decided what yet. my new bike is locked up but they stole the key so im trying to muster the nerve to hack off my brand new lock so i can ride.so it has been a heck of a week and im trying to bounce back, its just going to take a bit of time i guess. i will start posting again once i get my workout mojo going again. weight is still going down, past my goal point, and i have not been trying at all... i guess that stress is the reason.sorry to be a downer today, next time i will feel better,:*carolyn.

Oh Carolyn, if I had gobs of $ I'd fly you over here to Porltand for a vacation!!Worse than the robbery and unpaid training hours which are stressful enough, the worst of it is imo that your husband isn't being comforting, supportive, or helpful.  I'm really glad you have Chinook as both a watch dog and a loving soulmate.

I worry about you, Cola Pop!  You say you don't have any r/l friends, but maybe it's time you make some?  You are such a sweet and giving person, anyone should be so honored to have you as a friend!  Girls' nights out really are healing and fun.

Really hoping things look for you, stat!Love,

hi everyone!

sorry that i have been away for a while.

i have been working very hard at the deli and have been putting

in extra unpaid hours at home setting up a training program.

but i am backing down a bit now since the store manager has been

acting like an ass and has slightly offended me. my deli boss

did not stick up for me, so i declined extra hours on thursday

and have made myself unavailable for call-in on this canadian

long weekend... to heck with them, i really dont know why i try

so hard.

also, i got robbed last week - a man entered my house while i was

home and stole my new red handbag which contained almost

everything in the world that i own. i saw him and his co-thief

leaving my property in a big hurry, i think that chinook's

presence in the house stopped them from stealing more items.

ive been very busy cancelling things and replacing locks. the

expense has been high and insurance wont cover any of it.

so i made myself feel a bit better by replacing my stolen old mp3

player with a new ipod nano, which im enjoying very much. since

my money and credit cards were stolen, ive been very broke, but i

squeaked out enough cash to get my tunes going again, which is

very important to me.

so i was able to enjoy a couple of really nice walks with chinook

in gorgeous summer weather so im trying to find positives in the

situation. i was feeling very depressed and upset about work

and the theft so having my music and walking has been helping.

my dh is also very annoyed and we have been clashing so right now

we arent speaking to each other :/

i also started work on a flower garden yesterday but had to take

it easy because they also stole all of the medication for my

ribs.... i cant afford to replace it and my dr wont give me a

repeat until a certain amt of time has elapsed anyway. i have

to dig holes for my gladiolus bulbs today, i hope that i dont

cause a flare-up ::sigh::

i havent had time or energy or motivation to do any workout

videos but i do plan on starting something soon, havent decided

what yet. my new bike is locked up but they stole the key so im

trying to muster the nerve to hack off my brand new lock so i can

ride.

so it has been a heck of a week and im trying to bounce back, its

just going to take a bit of time i guess. i will start posting

again once i get my workout mojo going again. weight is still

going down, past my goal point, and i have not been trying at

all... i guess that stress is the reason.

sorry to be a downer today, next time i will feel better,

Good for you for doing that!! Maybe your boss will remember this.

OMG on the break in. You had to be so scared. Where was the rest of the family? How did they get in? That is just awful!!!!!!!!!! My DH works nights so its just me, and the dogs all night. We've never had any break ins around here, but if we ever did I'd be having a security system. I know they aren't the greatest thing, and thieves can still get in, but I'd feel a touch safer with one, I think. I'm so sorry that happened to you.

thankyou michelle for your kind words, they help me to feel a bit

better.

yes i was very scared, as were our kids.

my dh was at work and the boys were at school.

i had just gotten home from work and was exhausted so i had

plopped my bag down for sorting through later. normally i dont

load my bag up like that, but for some reason i cleaned out my

car and threw everything in there and took it all into the house.

i did not lock the main door of the house after i went inside.

you will be fine at home at night, just be sure to keep your

doors and windows locked. even if dh is home and you both

become occupied (like he goes for a shower and you are busy

cooking or working out), you should lock the doors. this

happened to me at 3pm. and i feel like a complete idiot for not

locking the door before i went upstairs.

I hear ya, Carolyn. I don't have any friends at all outside of the Internet. I too had a few past friendships that I thought would last forever and they just up and ended. I can't say I wouldn't mind meeting up with a friend for coffee and a bagel sometimes, just to physically talk to someone, but I'm cool with it, so I totally understand you.

OMG, you are NOT an idiot for not locking the doors in the middle of the day. I don't think we think "hey a robber could come in here right now and take my stuff" I don't think ANY of us have ever thought that.

The way our home is set up our doors are locked all the time. We don't come in and out of our front or back door so they remain locked unless we have company, which is very rare. We come in and out through our garage. We have power doors so we pull our cars in and the door comes down behind us. We go in our dining room from our garage. I feel safe that way.

I feel so sick for you. What the hell is wrong with people needing to take other people's things? Karma baby!!!!

I live alone in the city in a somewhat sketchy neighborhood, so my doors are always locked, but the way the windows are it would be very easy for anyone to break in.  I sleep with one eye open at night sometimes.  In a way I think it would be worse in the country because with neighbors so far away no one would know to come and help you.

, your lil Shitzhu must be a good lil yipper to let you know when people are at the door? The little buddies make GREAT watchdogs, though people are more frightened of the Chinook types, of course!

I have 2 cats that would just hide under the bed if anyone broke in..Fingers Crossies,

LOL aww, but mommy their scared too. I couldn't imagine sleeping with one eye opened. I lie in bed and stress about the stupidest things so if I heard something I'd freak out. We live out in the country (10 or so minutes from town) nothing around us, but we do live in a residential neighborhood. I have 2 good neighbors on each side, but they are older so I can't see them hearing me scream for my life lol.

Oh my - Carolyn - I didn't realize you were at home when this happened - that is extra scary..... I'm glad you are ok and they were just interested in your purse. I guess it goes to show you just never know.

By habit, I do lock my door behind me when I come in - but here is a funny story - one morning, I left to take my DD to school, I told her to pull the door shut behind her. Normally, I come straight home from dropping her off - but this particular morning I had to run an errand and was out for almost 2 hours. I came home to find the door not pulled shut and the house wide open. Dodged a bullet on that one!Donna> your husband isn't> being comforting, supportive, or helpful.i know... im not sure what his deal is.it has been 5 days and he has managed to get one lock changed (out of 4) :o> You say you don't have any r/l> friends, but maybe it's time you make some?it is by choice.past close f2f relationships havent gone well.thanks for the well wishes,:*c.------------------------------------

Just catching up with email and all here and saw this and the responses. Holy cow, Carolyn, that must have been terrifying! We were robbed twice when I was a kid, plus 1 attempt too while just my sister and I were home (we were young teens probably, heard people trying to get in through the sliding glass door in our family room). Horrible, awful situations. Plus your work situation, DH and your ribs I can totally see why you'd be down! I'm so sorry to hear all this too! I'm glad you were able to get some music and to take some walks with Chinook. I hope things settle down at home and work very soon and most of all that you get some peace again very soon.

Many hugs,

Carolyn,

That is terrible, and I am so sorry.:( That is unbelievable that insurance

won't help out with a robbery (what do we pay them for...?) Wow. I hope things

will get straightened out as quickly as possible. I am glad that Chinook kept

them from doing anything more than that, and that you are all safe, at least.

And I hope your boss figures out what a great worker you are and shows some

appreciation, and that tensions in the household will settle down. I am sending

hugs and positive energy your way.

Me, too...I don't have any real-life friends, mainly because I have always been

introverted, and like to have lots of time to myself. I have great coworkers who

I have worked with for many years, and have good relationships with them, but

that's only during work hours. Otherwise, it's just my immediate family that I

hang out with, and I'm pretty content with that.

yes, me too - I have a few face to face true friends, some acquaintenances (to get together w/ for girls nights out, etc. or chat w/ at school or other functions), but I'm also an introvert who does need a lot of time away from people and on my own, so I'm content with social relationships! I enjoy my on-line friends, too!Donna

Hi Jeanette!

Yes, the classic Firms are my all-time favorites, especially the first 3 (with

, Janet -Gretzky, and Sandahl Bergman). Other favorites are

Tracie Long's Maximum Body Sculpting, and her Tortoise & Hare set. My VHS player

isn't working right now, so I haven't been able to do them in awhile.

I walked this morning, too. I was all set to try Petra Kolber's Bootcamp

Boogie for the first time, but when I woke up I found one of my 20-year old

daughter's friends asleep on my couch. So I headed to the basement and walked 3

miles on the treadmill instead. Oh well, it was a pretty good workout anyway! :)
