Guest guest
Does anyone have any solutions to Urinary Tract Infections besides antibiotics?
Guest guest
Ann, I have taken many rounds of antibiotics for my UTI's & it was not even necessary & they never really worked & only caused my candida to get worse which caused my UTI's to come more often. Now when I feel one coming on I start taking Baking Soda waters: 1/4 tsp of Baking Soda in 8oz water every 30 min. for 1st 2-3hrs. Then every hour up to total {14[1/4 tsps]max usage on box} It works by balancing the pH. Colder the water the better it tastes--also the relief is so good that you overlook the taste. Hope this helps--let me know-o.k. Lmommy Use Baking Soda to care for dental work, add 2 teaspoons of baking soda to a bowl of water to clean dentures, retainers, or mouth-guards Re: UTIs Does anyone have any solutions to Urinary Tract Infections besides antibiotics? Guest guest
Ozone therapists use a catheter and bubble oxygen/ozone mix into the baldder. Incidentally Candida is also on the list of diseases treatable with ozone therapy. Generally we use an ozone steam sauna. There may be a naturopath who does it near you. Naturopaths have been using ozone for more than 100 years, starting with Kellogg of Battle Creek Michigan in about 1897. Guest guest
> Does anyone have any solutions to Urinary Tract Infections besides > antibiotics? Ann- There is also an herbal remedy called Uva Ursi. You can get it at any health food store. It is supposed to be very effective. I've only used it once (as I got pregnant soon after and couldn't use it anymore)- but it seemed effective. I think you can use it as a preventative measure (if they are re-occurant), as well. Good luck- Kathy
Guest guest
I've got a friend with an almost-chronic UTI. Anyone dealt with this? Hi Nell, I used to have this problem too. Used Rx to treat, and my doctor recommended avoiding all carbonated drinks and artificial sweeteners esp. aspertame and taking a cranberry+Vitamin C supplement. I haven't had one since. --Lynne

Guest guest
, I just typed a reply to you and lost it. arrrgggghh! Long and short... Thank you for letting me know I'm not the first! I'm wondering if a kidney stone (obviously it wasn't a blood clot) put me in the ER after surgery. For your abs, focus on engaging your core and imagining your torso is stretched very long while you are walking (when done correctly, it is much tougher than it sounds). I am anxious to hear what else is recommended. Options certainly keep a workout from getting boring! Once Ultram during the day and one Norco at night is getting me through the muscular discomfort I have, but I know this (the soreness) is from two VERY full days. I still feel pretty great! I've got to go to sleep! kam > > Dear Kam, > > Best news I've got today!!!! > > I love cipro too, had it twice for UTI's worked really fast, I got both of > my UTI's after surgery, wonder if you get them from being catherized, glad > you are on the mend!!! > >
Guest guest
Dear Kam, Thanks, I'll try that very long imaging, now just have to get rid of the flab, back to Adkins I'm affraid, though I hate it. If I'm pretty faithful to it I loose about 5 pounds a month. I faced the fact long ago that I'll never be twiggy, but I don't want to go above a size 14 either. If you are up to a movie, the next one in line after Diary of a Mad Black Women is out, Tyler 's " Madea's Family Reunion " . I haven't got to go see it yet, it will be for date night Sunday. I could use a good laugh! I'm so glad you are on the mend, this surgery and recovery sure isn't for sissy's, by summer you should be feeling like a new woman. I know I'm glad every day I did it, hope you feel that way too. Off to get Ceili off to school and go for my walk, have a terrific day! Guest guest
I had my first UTI while in recovery from my Harrington rod surgery in 1971. I'm positive it was from being catheterized. I'm trying to catch up on posts here, but I have a question... Does this mean that all the UTIs I've been fighting (including a staph one that just took 4 weeks of antibiotics) AND the fact that I'm 99.9% percent positive that I have chronic UTIs even when they culture out clean, could have been a trigger? Or is at least a part of the whole thing? I've always had chronic UTIs, but they've gotten worse as my other RA symptoms have gotten worse (although I wasn't DXd until just recently.) The connection would not surprise me at all... Thx,
Guest guest
, Proteus mirabilis would be detected in a urinalysis. If the infection is subclinical, it means you yourself wouldn't notice any symptoms that would prompt you to call your doctor saying you thought you had another UTI. Not an MD I'll tell you where to go! Guest guest
If you are female you should urinate straight after intercourse, to help prevent UTI¹s & wipe from front to back with the toilet paper (not the other way) once you have finished passing urine, so that you do not risk infection. on 3/27/08 4:23 PM, jacqueline smith at jacqueline.az@... wrote: > > > > i just want to say i agree with karen 100%...when i get UTIs there is a > reason i get them...my doctor told me that i have to use a different > position for intercourse...if anyone wants to talk about this, i would > prefer to do it via our own email and not in the group...if anyone would > like to email me, that would be fine~~ > * jacque* >
