((HUGS)) Indy - you have A LOT on your plate.

I do wonder if sometimes God puts us in certain places for a reason - my DH lost his job right when his dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer - b/c DH didn't have a job he got to spend time w/ his dad during his last 6 weeks. And, DH got a job very shortly after his dad passed, so, sometimes, things just work the way they are supposed to.

I'm sorry about all that is going on w/ your mom - it does sound like she may need more advanced care - can you have a home nurse visit?

Remember last year when I told you about DH's aunt - well, she has moved in w/ DH's sister and, get this - she is still not happy. *SIGH* Now she is wishing she stayed in her own home (which is what I kind of thought she would say - since she was able to go out regularly and care for herself - DH's sister lives in a rural area w/ no buses or public transportation).

Take care,

Donna

I've been feeling overwhelmed lately, with Mom's health problems, the massive yardwork still needing to get done, our truck broke down (major radiator leak; needs replaced), downed trees, employment problems, etc. -- plus developing a new foot problem of my own -- "Saddlebone deformity."It's inspiring to me to hear of you all pushing on with exercising under even more overwhelming odds. I've been a bad girl, doing more stress eating than I should and skipping exercising due to schedules. OT: It may be time to turn my Mom over to a nursing facility. She fell again yesterday -- no major damage, but a nasty goose egg on her forehead and bridge of her nose, resulting in two black eyes. She went to sit on the toilet, and pitched forward instead of back... I believe her nervous system is failing all over, due to diabetes neuropathy. The doctors just say "Yes, that may be happening...or something else..." Sometimes I think maybe God made me

lose my job so I could care for Mom more closely, and see what she needs. (I wish God didn't trust me so much!!!)Indyrose, taking a cue from the rest of you to push on...

Sorry about your mom and all you were handed to deal with. I was always

told God doesn't give us more than we can handle. It is tough to see

this but you are doing the best you can and when you look back later you

won't have regrets. Can you get some respite care? While it wouldn't

solve all your problem, it can give you some help, more than you are

getting now.

Talk to your mom to see when it is a good time to move her. I think she

will let you know when it's the right time.

Indyrose, that is truly difficult, so don't be so hard on yourself. One thing that really helped us when dad went through this was to talk to a medical social worker. Sometimes there are options that you might not otherwise know about.

Hugs!

Hugs :( you are living some of my worst fears.  My mom has a memory deficit that is stroke related and I keep thinking my folks are immortal.  Hope you can find some peace during your days, Indy!

More fuel on the fire -- Dad went into the doctor with a bit of leg swelling (with a doppler test), today, and they admitted him with a blood clot in his lower leg. :-(

Mom's confusion factor goes WAY up under this sort of stress:

Why didn't someone tell me sooner?? (We did, Mom.) Why doesn't he call? (He did, Mom.) When are they going to operate? (No operation, Mom...) Where is he?? (The hospital, Mom.) Why didn't someone tell me sooner?? (We did, Mom.) Why doesn't he call? (He did, Mom.)

She's not usually that bad...

Indyrose,

who missed tonight's workout running to the hospital with some of Dad's stuff...

Thanks so much for your concern! I'm doing okay... I have been better, though.

Personally, I think it's my DH who is the saint. They're MY parents, but his

in-laws! It really hasn't been too bad until around this past Christmas, when

Mom started slipping faster.

The saddle bone deformity isn't too bad -- it's kind-of like a bunion on the

instep. No nerve pain with it, but a lot of bruise-type of pain. It's very

sensitive to touch/pressure. I've been padding around it, and that's helped a

lot, so I think I'll stay with that treatment.

I did Cathe's Basic Step and then ran a mile on the treadmill this morning. That

will probably let me know whether the padding has helped or not!
