Hi Jenna:

That mattress sounds great - is it a mattress-mattress

or a smaller pad type mattress? We have a Linens and

Things close by. Could you email me the specifics of

it - I think that could really be of help for my fibro

too - maybe relax my muscles - I am always tense! And

my husband has problems with his L5-S1 disc space with

pain in his legs, so he could definately benefit too -

maybe we'd even have to fight over it! Hopefully it's

not too pricey - we are on a tight budget!

Kathe, what she described is the car seat shaped pad called a " HoMEDICS BACK

MASSEUR " . Mine has 10 motors, but one quit working and I haven't looked into

it. It also has heat and 12 magnets. The 10 areas can be turned on or off,

sped up, pulsed, and other things. Since I'm using Betty's chair while

having this back problem, I've used it with the chair. It fits perfectly but

works on AC or 12 volts, and the chair is 24 volts. :( It still works

though, all I have to do is sit here at the computer and plug it in!

ications

is the WalMart version of the one we are using, but this one doesn't mention

the magnets.

I have one too! My husband got one for me Christmas before last. I

_LOVE_ it!!! Even before the RA, it is just SO nice for kneading

out tight back muscles.

We have tone store in our local mall, and I have lusted after

the massage chairs there. But since the " cheap-o " models go for

about $1,200, and the " nice " ones are closer to $4,000, they weren't

evne a possibility. (besides needing to find a place to put such a

bg thing!!!) Then, at Christmas time, I happened to notice that the

GNC store right across from tone had these pads. I doubted

they'd really work, but they had a demo model for people to try

right there. I had onlt seen " vibrator " type pads before, which

might feel comforting while you are on them, but really can't break

down muscle knots.

I was really surprised to find that this thing really worked! It

wasn't as good as the $4,000 chair, but it WAS as good as

the " cheap " $1,200 version. And it cost just under $100!

If I really need the " whole treatment " , I put the pad in my

husband's big, soft recliner. But it is even helpful if I put it in

my computer chair. My kids love it too.

I use mine a lot, and have had it for 18 months, and it still works

flawlessly, so I hope the fact that Dennis' has a problem is just

bad luck. In any case, you can go through a LOT of them before

getting close to the cost of one of the chairs!!!<g>
