Guest guest
oh I may have to try.. I wear minimalist for agility (Sprints) but when on feet all day I find I need some cushion.. so looking for something inbetween this may fit the bill plus purple yea!! To: exercisevideos Sent: Friday, May 4, 2012 6:56 PM Subject: new sneakers! 3 pairs. I've discovered the joys of an evening run/walk up the neighborhood hill. Right now I'm kinda slow, but that hill is pretty steep, so it's good cardio. It's an 1100 feet climb in about 5 miles thanks to the Hayward Fault. I have a 5k coming up in a few weeks, and impact is still iffy because of my "bum" glut. I like to head out in the evening. There's enough of an elevation that I get some pretty views of Castro Valley at night (the neighboring town). Right now my run intervals are very short and tentative
Guest guest
Oh, do try them! They are so much fun to wear. After a couple of years of minimal shoes and Converse low tops, it felt like pure joy to have a bit of cushion and spring in the shoes for distance and impact, while still having a very light shoe with a flexible sole. The other thing I like is that the toe box doesn't force my big toe inward. Sometimes running shoes tend to be a bit pointy in the front. My toe wants to point forward because I've learned to engage the big toe when I walk (along with the leg adductors, psoas, and abs). oh I may have to try.. I invested in shoes because my current shoes are breaking down. I could feel the impending doom on my last 16 mile walk, so I'm retiring them. I've busted up my feet before, so this is important. Plus, I can justify the cost because I wear out shoes and bike tires, but not car tires. has a new line of minimal shoes that have a bit more support and cushioning, which is what I need for distances and for higher impact. The think I like best is the heel. They don't have raised heels, and the heel is rounded for folks who prefer a mid foot strike. That's me: mid foot strike. So far I love all three pairs. We'll see how they work out as I increase distances again. For the road: Purple!http://zapp.me/7864574Also for longer distances: black and blue:http://zapp.me/7864589 And for the trail: Pretty blue!http://zapp.me/7864598Yay!
