Guest guest
Hi everyone! I am on my third dose of Humira (still have trouble giving myself this injection)......it is not giving myself a shot that bothers me it is the knowledge that the medicine hurts like heck going in! Anyway, I have a question for all of those on Humira. I become so tired after my injection usually within four hours and it continues for the next two days. I have talked to my doctor about it but he said he had not heard of fatigue being a side effect. I know fatigue goes with RA but this has been very consistent with the three injections. Has anyone else experienced this and how do you get through it? I have three little ones at home and it is very hard for me to stay awake during the day (even after sleeping the whole night). My second question is what type of lab tests should I expect to have done as a result of being on Humira? I had a TB test done before beginning Humira and have had regular lab testing for methotrexate and prednisone. I just want to make sure I stay informed about my lab results. Thanks a bunch! __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Hi . My daughter gets extremely fatigued after taking Humira. The fatigue starts a few hours after her injection, but only lasts for the day. By the next day she is much better. As a result, I have decided to move her injection time to the early evening, in the hopes she'll be better by the next morning. I don't really know about the labs specific to Humira. Guest guest
Hi Sandy! I think the pen is really easy to use. The medicine does burn for about 7 seconds while it's going in, but once that's over I'm fine. Make sure that you let the alcohol dry before you inject, and you can let it warm up for 15-20 minutes on the counter before you inject. Humira made a huge difference for me, so I hope that you get some relief from it. I noticed some changes in about 2 weeks, and very gradually I began to improve. Humira does offer a patient support program to help defray the cost of your copay. Guest guest
Hi Sandy, I'm going to be starting humira next week. I received my humira kit from the Rheumy Thursday. I chose the prefilled syringe method and am waiting for it to be delivered. I currently am on Methotrexate 6 pills, dose 2.5mg. each. I also am on a low dose of prednisone. The methotrexate does not seem to be covering all my symptoms so we are adding the humira. The goal is hopefully it will work well enough for me to eliminate the prednisone very low dose and reduce the amount of Methotrexate I need to take . I will be happy to let you know how things go and I too appreciate everyone's feedback on Humira . I appreciate anyone else's feedback. I know am nervous about starting Humira....... **************Great Deals on Dell Laptops. Starting at $499. Guest guest
Regarding Humira, THANKS! for all the posts. I am very interested in all your experiences with MTX, Humira, Predinisone, etc. Specifically, the comparison of the PEN to the SYRINGE. My doctor didn't offer me an option and began the PEN with the Humira. Like I said, very painful in the thigh. (NOT complaining, if it helps!) However, a couple of you said that using the syringe and injecting in the tummy was more comfortable. Do you do your own injections? Did you have any problem overcoming the " needle " fear? " I wonder if I could stick myself. If it would be more comfortable, I might give it a try. I still have one PEN left but I guess could try the syringe, right? Guest guest
I am a pen user and a needlephobe... If I had to use the syringe, I would be a nervous wreck and probably pass out. I never see the needle in the pen therefore I have had no problems. I always inject into my leg. Question: When you were taught how to inject, did she grab the skin as shown in the booklet to make sure you get a good layer of fat? If not, that may help. I have never injected into my stomach area and may try that tomorrow..... CxC Kami CxC [ ] Re:Humira Questions Regarding Humira, THANKS! for all the posts.
