Oh man, that is FRUSTRATING! Hugs!  It's like it's an advanced piece of technology but made with flimsy materials, it sounds like :(  My friend at work bought one for herself and her b/f.  If b/f doesn't use it, I will get to have his!  Here's hoping!  I could just buy one but I'd rather spend the $ on training with Noel :)

So, they've replaced 2 fitbits for me and now my 3rd one is looking like the other two AND my clip broke today.  I need to use the clip or the fitbit its self will break down like the other two.  Ugh...............

What makes me so mad is that I LOVE this thing.

How and when are you wearing it? I've had my fitbit for over 2 years now and so far it's been fine. I even wear it when I play volleyball. I use one of those stretchy headbands and tie it onto my bra. JenSubject: fitbitTo: Cathe_Friedrich_Fans , exercisevideos , fitandthatsit Date: Monday, July 30, 2012, 2:13 PM

michelle, im sorry to hear about your fitbit. i havent had any

problems with mine at all.... if i did then i would be really

bummed out too. i think the difference is that i dont use my

fitbit as a clip, nor do i use the provided clip case (i gave my

case to jen). the only time it is clipped to anything is when it

is in its charger, once every three days or so. using a tether

on the fitbit is the way to go (i use a simple hairband). i

think they should stop telling people to clip it to their belt,

purse and bra.

i dont completely agree with this.... the clip case does seem

thin and flimsy but i think that the fitbit itself is fine. it

just should not be spread apart and clipped to your clothes. why

they persist in telling people to do that is beyond me. it

would be so easy for them to provide a simple tether instead.

or they should provide a better clip case if they are going to

keep advising that. grrrr!

yeah! i wear mine constantly and it is so easy with the

hairband (pony tail holder). i loop it around my bra strap and

if im not wearing a bra then i pop it onto my wrist, or my ankle

(if im bike riding) or loop it around a belt loop or even the tab

hole on a zipper. i suppose i could wear it on an actual pony

tail... lol. the hairbands come in different colours too. i

just dont get why fitbit doesnt wise up!!

Spreading it apart is what caused mine to crack where it bends. I still don't think the fitbit its self is made that well because I've kept my in my clip and have been very careful with it and I still have cracks on the side of it. This has happened to ALL of them that I've had and this one makes my third one.

They told me to wear mine on my bra when I lost the first one. I started doing that (using my clip) and I've never lost another one. So doing that does make it secure, but if you don't use the clip and have to spread it apart to get it on your bra then it will crack, without a doubt.

I love mine, but I wish it was made more sturdy.

I had it exactly one month to the DAY....it just quit. After talking with customer service they figured that moisture from sweat got into it, I sweat a lot when I run so that was probably it. I never kept it against my skin when running, I wear 2 bras so I would have it inbetween them....but sometimes both would get soaked.

They replaced it with the Ultra, my original wasn't one...they came out with the Ultra right after I got my first one.

I always wear the clip now when I work out, so far so good.

But I've also had to reset it a few times since then as it wouldn't upload or charge...so far (knock on wood!) resetting has worked.

I agree. What happened to your first one? I can't remember.~~ Sent from my Thunderbolt 4GLTE

I clip it to my bra when I go for a walk, but that's low impact so that's probably the difference. I think if you are running with it or playing sports like me you should tie or tether it down so that it won't get broken. When I do clip my fitbit on my bra (not using the fitbit clip) I don't spread it at all, I just push the bra into the end of the Fitbit. Mine hasn't cracked at all and I've had it about two years! JenSubject: Re: fitbitTo: exercisevideos Date: Wednesday, August 1, 2012, 2:02 PM

Hi Carolyn and other Fitbitters,Tell me about the bike riding. You put it on your ankle, and does it register steps when you pedal? I'm so curious. My step counts really drop on my bike commute days. I also use that hairband trick. I had some left over from when I had long hair. I either loop the hairband around a belt loop (I usually wear jeans), or to my bra strap if I'm in exercise pants. At night I loop it around one of those plastic wristbands -- like those Livestrong yellow wrisbands. The wristband that came with the fitbit is too hot for this menopausal gal. The plastic band works great. I have never spread the fitbit though. I have the Ultra and it has gotten sweat all over it.

Mine doesn't seem flimsy either. My goodness, do I love this thing. It has

replaced all the bother with all the spreadsheets, and it has simplified my

tracking amazingly. It has boiled the information down to the simplest, most

important factors: calories in and calories out.

Is your fitbit connected to the my fitness pal website? That's a really cool feature. MFP is so much better at logging food than the fitbit.YAH FitBit Jen

Hi Jen,I used MFP for a couple of years, and it's absolutely great because it has a huge database. I just don't need that level in detail. I did have them linked, but I unlinked them. Believe it or not, the Fitbit site suits my method of logging better, and I'm happy to only be dealing with one site.I do agree that MFP is a much better food logging site if you need that level of detail. Their forums are good too, if you're interested in that. Hope you're having a great day.

I like MFP better because when I used the fitbit site, I had to constantly add food to their database, with MFP I don't. And I like the feature at the bottom that says if you keep eating this way, in 5 weeks you will weigh this much. I had a great day. Finally got my birthday dinner at Red Lobster!. I had lobster, shrimp and scallops...YUMMY! Jen
