Guest guest
Hi , I have been tenativly diagnosed with inflammatory arthritis, I have tested negativeRF and with boderline RF at two different times.I will be having X rays of hands and wrists soon. What specifically is shown as positive marker for RA in hands, wrists in an X ray? Do I need to push for a referal to a Rheumatologist? Thanks. Guest guest
Hi, Inga. Welcome to the group. I sent some information from the Hospital for Special Surgery on RA and imaging in a separate E-mail. Yes, I would see a rheumatologist. Early, accurate diagnosis is very important. Not an MD I'll tell you where to go! Guest guest
I would _definitely insist on a referal to a good rheumatologist. In my case, I didn't have to even ask. I saw my PCP once, and told him what was going on. (I thought I might have Lyme disease, since a horse on our property had it) Once I tested negative for Lyme, he told ME I needed to see a rheumatologist, and I had an appointment within a week or so. It took longer than that to get a dx, but at least I was in the hands of someone who was an expert in these diseases. --- In , " dieterichinga " <idieterich1@...> wrote: > > Hi , I have been tenativly diagnosed with inflammatory arthritis, I > have tested negativeRF and with boderline RF at two different times.I > will be having X rays of hands and wrists soon. Guest guest
I was diagnosed almost 3 yrs ago, and also my Mother has RA too, and we are both sero-negative. Dr says one can have RA and not have it in your blood. Stacey --- Randall <krandall@...> wrote: > I would _definitely insist on a referal to a good > rheumatologist.
