Guest guest
The woman I secretly call Barbie was there in her pink outfit, blonde hair in a ponytail with her bangs perfectly curled over the addidas sweat band. LOL Barbie sounds like a real winner. So I have to ask, is she super skinny JUST like Barbie? `* ´¸.•´ ¸.•*¨)¸.•*¨)(¸.•´(¸.• (¸.•´¸¸.•¨¯`•.¸¸.s
Guest guest
LOL No, Barbie is on the plump side, like me! I give her credit that she comes to the gym regularly, but when she does she doesn't exert herself, AT ALL. LOL Barbie sounds like a real winner. Guest guest
Too funny!! I did that Cher video once (then got rid of it). It was funny but you're right. not much of a workout. I have another one of her videos that is actually pretty good though. I love your stories. So, since this woman is a co-worker, do you know what her job function is? Just curious. No workout here today. Worked, then came home and cleaned and made dinner then my dad and step-mother came over for dinner and we, along with my mother-in-law, attended Miriam's dance recital. She did jazz & ballet and did really well. The dads did their "dads dance" (they started this last year) and it was hilarious. They did a "synchronized swim" dance. My husband did not participate, Miriam wouldn't let him (he didn't want to anyway). She probably wouldn't let me if there were a "moms dance" either, she knows we're both beyond hopeless. Those kids get a teriffic workout in with dance though. Some of them were in 6 or 8 dances too. Just the costume changes would be a workout! :-) I'm off to bed soon, long day, super tired. I'm planning a workout for tomorrow but have a lot to do in the morning then working from 10-4 and then another class at 7. It might be another 15 mnute "I Want Those Arms" session but I'll get something in. I need it! Barbie at the Sweat Shop Today and I did Triceps, the usual routine and weights. The yoga class went over a few minutes past the end time so 2 runners, 3 video workout people and and I were gathered/hovering around impatiently waiting for the GXers to leave. The runners went ahead and started stretching during the shavasana. The woman I secretly call Barbie was there in her pink outfit, blonde hair in a ponytail with her bangs perfectly curled over the addidas sweat band. Since she got there first she picked the workout video - Cher's step video. I could see the faces fall on the two others who are always doing Turbo Fire and the HIIT dvd's. One of them just left but the other one did Cher with Barbie. Not sure if the music's bpm ever went over 110? This one is a riot to watch, Cher and her gang are doing step in lingerie and combat boots. It's very beginner though... I exclaimed, "Oh, you're doing the Cher workout! This one is hilarious!" Barbie - "It's the ONLY video I do." Now was I really laughing, more at her than with her. Barbie is annoying because she'll go into the changing room and leave her enormous pink shiny duffle bag on the bench and leave it there (even though there is a sign posted in the locker room that says benches are for sitting, not to leave your stuff there). Worse, if someone is in there changing she'll go, "IS SOMEBODY IN THERE???" when clearly there is, the curtain is closed and there are feet under there. Then she'll huff and complain, "Gosh, it's always so busy in here!!" In the cardio room she walks on the treadmill at about speed 2, tops, grabs on to the handles and reads. She wears a sweat band, but fails to sweat. When her "workout" is over she goes back into the locker room and spends 40 minutes reapplying her makeup. Too funny. Of all the gyms I've belonged to - 24 Hour Fitness, Fitness, Cascade Athletic Club - the Sweat Shop by far has the STRANGEST members. Moreover, they are all COWORKERS! Tonite I get to go to Zumba - my favorite instructor is back!
Guest guest
Hi ! I don't personally know this woman. Our corporate offices downtown have over 2000 employees and and I go to the one in the other building. I only know some of the people there because they are regulars at the Sweat Shop. I'm glad she's not on my team at any rate! She's kind of a betch! Hope you get some time to yourself to just breathe soon, !Hugs, I love your stories. Guest guest
Well, I'm glad she's at least not on your team!! Thanks, , breathing seems to be an optional activity around here lately but that's okay, it is a season I'll get through. Hopefully sooner rather than later but in any case, this too shall pass! Guest guest
Oh wow, I used to love that Cher step tape back in the day! Lol. It's funny that you mention it, because I actually looked online for it a few days ago. It was $33 bucks on amazon, so I didn't get it. I'm watching a couple auctions on ebay, though. I thought it was a fun workout to do on my easier workout days. The music was pretty good, and I liked their chit-chat (one of my favorite lines was when Keli messed up a count or something, and Cher said something like " if we screw up as a group, then it's called correct! " ) But yeah, some of the outfits were sure a trip, though! I've been keeping an eye out for some of my other old favorite videos that I've somehow lost track of over the years. I recently bought Kathy Kaehler's Fitness System, and did that a few days ago, which was quite the blast from the past. Ronda > > Today and I did Triceps, the usual routine and weights. Guest guest
I remember CherFitness very well. It was a fun workout and I felt part of the group onscreen when I did it. The thing I remember best is that working out was such fun - not a serious moment of counting reps.Regards, Catlin
Guest guest
It's a fun tape to have around for historical purposes for sure! I have TWO copies of Fabio Fitness I love it so much. I haven't done it in years on purpose because I don't want to memorize it. It's soooooo funny! I remember CherFitness very well. Guest guest
I didn't know Fabio had fitness videos! I'll have to look those up, I bet they are fun. And yes, I remember that the Cher videos were like exercising with friends, nothing too serious, which I loved. I ended up winning an ebay auction last night for both of Cher's tapes...can't wait to do them again! Ronda > > > ** > > > > > > I remember CherFitness very well. Guest guest
Ronda OMG. Fabio only has one video, but you could almost find it in the soft porn section! It is HILARIOUS! I have literally almost dropped dumbells laughing during this one, especially the pelvic tilt move in the warmup that he does with Dygraff (sp) I didn't know Fabio had fitness videos! I'll have to look those up, I bet they are fun. And yes, I remember that the Cher videos were like exercising with friends, nothing too serious, which I loved. Guest guest
I just found a used copy of Fabio's video on Amazon for $2.00 and ordered it. I bet it will be hilarious (I'll watch for that pelvic tilt move, lol)! Thank you for mentioning it, and I'll let you know how it goes when I get to do it. And I remember Dykgraaf, too, and how I liked her Disco workout about 15 years ago, so I ordered it for $1.39. I'm excited with all these old videos coming my way, this is going to be so fun! Guest guest
Ronda I cannot WAIT til you do it! I liked it so much I bought 2 vhs copies and also xferred it to dvd since it is out of print. It's not a bad workout either if you pick heavy enough weights. Recommendation - do this one with a girlfriend. I just found a used copy of Fabio's video on Amazon for $2.00 and ordered it.
