Jen.. I had Gatric bypass in 9/2004.. shortly after the bypass, 2mos

later, I had an explosive onset of RA and Sjogrens. Iam pretty active

in an online community for people who have had or are going to have

Gastric Bypass. One thing I have been noticing is, it seems people

with autoimmune diseases seem to have major flairs after the

surgery.. and many others are developing autoimmune problems who did

not have them before. Gastric bypass seems to really help people

with diabetes, high cholestrol and heart disease.. but I am thinking

there may be an adverse affect on some people with autoimmune

problems. I would like to see someone do a study on this. I have been

very successful with my weightloss, but am experiencing more health

problems now than I did before WLS... Gastric bypass is a great tool

for alot of people, but it isn't always the answer.
