Are you still Taking Humeri while sick?

Please if so call your rheumy, before your next shot.

When I even have a cold, or bad sinus infection I am told to wait a week, as I

have been in the hospital last summer with pneumonia.I realize I might be a bit

different as the RA has been found in my lungs and I take humeri every week, but

it doesn't hurt to ask. in WI

Hey everyone,

I know you have not heard from me in awhile. I just got out of the

hospital for bacterial pneumonia and man was I sick, well actually

still am. I am sure it will take me awhile to get fully better. Has

anyone else experienced pneumonias while on the Humira? I am

considering taking a break from it because it seems like I have just

been so sick lately with infections. Any thoughts or feedback is

appreciated.

Thanks again,

Hi ,

Thanks for responding. Nope I am not on the Humira now and am not

supposed to take it anyway until I see my rheumy again on the 11th

and am 100% better. I also did not take it when I was sick in the

beginning of this illness before the pneumonia struck. I know how

dangerous it is. However, I am beginning to want a break from it

because sometimes it scares me to death being on it especially after

this last bout of pneumonia. Now I realize it could be RA related

as I know the RA can attack my lungs and I will definitely ask my

rheumy about that at my follow-up appt. So you take it every week?

WOW! Don't the side effects scare you sometimes? It has helped me

a lot though over the past year, no doubt about that, but it is

finding that balance. I want to be as well as possible AND as

mobile as possible. I just want it all don't I????? How about a

cure too??? Might as well pray for it all.

Take care of yourself.

Yes, sometimes the side effects do worry me, but I am past childbearing age,

have never taken predisone for nay long length of time ( a year was the longest)

at at this point I do not use methotrexate, although will be starting it

probably in June.

I cannot take any Nsaids like mobic or celibrex as they cause me to go into

kidney failure, I don't have much other choice, I like to feel somewhat human!

My breathing as improved a great deal (RA in lungs) since i started Humeri, but

right now I am having a great deal of trouble with my hands, My rheumy says I am

breaking thru the Humeri, so right now I am taking steroids, but she says we

will need to make some drug changes when I see her in June she is worried about

my lungs, and feels I need to be on stronger drugs.Right now for the RA I take

Humeri, Lexapro, Ultracet for pain, and calcium. Take in WI
