Guest guest
Hello, I read the messages rather regularly but there are many various topics and my command of English is not that good(I'm a Pole) so I think that I might have missed sth important. I know that still no cure has been found but what are the most promising tips to cope with all this? I took lots of supplements (Mg, Zn, proteins, fish oils) it was even before I found out this site and the real reason for my symptoms. Zinc gave me some noticable libido boost after few days of taking but just for a day or so. Also had a chance to take nootropil and it was similar to Zinc, also some short boost but then nothing. There were some topics about particular amino acids or herbs, could someone summarize substances that were somehow promising with some people? Also I have to ask although I almost know the answers: Are any researchers looking into it? I have read the Csoka's case study but is there some follow-up? Has anybody got fully cured over time? And the last one, do You consider founding some more social group for this? I mean to get to know each other exchange experiences talk about life in general and other stuff maybe we would then notice some patterns some similiarities between us. I have good friends and family but they are not able to understand things like depression and pssd. Regards, Dominik
Guest guest
Many people recover from PSSD, even after years of it. Guest guest
Kavy, I am sorry about your PSSD. In response to your quesiton about other research, I found two PSSD related articles in a recent search: > Persistence of Sexual Dysfunction Side Effects after Discontinuation of > Antidepressant Medications: Emerging Evidence > pp.42-50 (9) Author: Audrey S. Bahrick > doi: 10.2174/1874350100801010042 > > this article is available open access in The Open Psychology Journal at: > > http://www.bentham-open.org/pages/content.php? > TOPSYJ/2008/00000001/00000001/42TOPSYJ.SGM > > Also an article in The Journal of Contemporary Psychotherapy called " Sexual Side Effects of Antidepressant Medications: An Informed Consent Accountability Gap. This article gives more than a passing mention of PSSD. > > http://www.springerlink.com/content/0483x4276q80417q/? > p=9a051ec3d147447396be8ec30b1833aa & pi=6 > > > Jutta > > Hello, > > I read the messages rather regularly but there are many various > topics and my command of English is not that good(I'm a Pole) so I > think that I might have missed sth important. > > I know that still no cure has been found but what are the most > promising tips to cope with all this? > > I took lots of supplements (Mg, Zn, proteins, fish oils) it was even > before I found out this site and the real reason for my symptoms. Guest guest
Thanks, I kinda got used to a thought that it could be permanent and it is bearable after all, I don't have depression anymore and I don't take any drugs and life turns out not to be that bad, although of course I miss my earlier more usual way of living. In other post I think Kavy wrote about his ex-girlfriend trouble with having children and there were some other messages about it but could someone also summarize it for me? I'm single and rather not going to reproduce in the future, but I would like to know what is my position. Is it always dangerous for pssd people to have children? Has someone here managed to have healthy kids?
