Guest guest
I varies from person to person. For some people the injury can take months or years to surface. For me the injury was immediate. Medical workers will only lie when complaints are made. These drugs are also proven to ruin concentration and lower IQ. If you want your son to be healthy and do well inn school, it would be best for him to stop taking psychiatric drugs. > > Hi, I am new here. Guest guest
These SSRIs affect people in different ways. Never suddenly stop taking an SSRI. It must be tapered off slowly over a period of several months under a doctor's supervision. There are natural supplements that can be taken as an alternative to SSRIs which do not cause bad side-effects. http://www.smart-publications.com/depression/5htp.php http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PSSD http://www.antidepressantsfacts.com/ > > Hi, I am new here. Guest guest
If I were you, I would work with alternative means to help your son. Supplements...especially fish oil...Omega 3 fatty acids are known to help the brain. Tryptophan ....lots of other stuff. Also, there might be a legitimate reason he is depressed. Whether it is not getting the proper diet and supplements or if there is a problem in his life that needs to be addressed. Try eating non-processed, natural foods. Cut out anything with added chemicals....diet soda pop...etcs. None of the antidepressants have ever been proven successful...there is no science to it. Ask the doctor to do a scientific test to determine which chemicals your son is lacking....he won't be able to. If you want more information on alternative ways I can point you to some information. I wouldn't risk your son's future. And be careful...taper off of a person can get sick. Guest guest
Hi survivor, thank you for your recommendation, it is interesting to hear it because as u say doctor used to lie. The problems started recently ie when he finished this school year we moved to another location. He is going to start university his year so when we moved he had complete physical with new doc. The doc recommended him to undergo small operation, which he did. But then started to have problems , he was frustrated by the result. So then he was prescribed SSRI. Our son doesnot want to talk about it much. He started to take medicine two weeks ago and doc say he has to adjust and it takes some time...Also the doc tells him it would help overcome his frustration and help him study. So i do not know if quit or swith for another one. I personaly do not like the idea to drug young people. > > I varies from person to person. Guest guest
Although I don't have very specific information on this case, here are my first thoughts on this. These views come from my personal experience and research into these issues. Some responses are in question format. They are not meant to sound patronizing, these are just for critical thought to help demystify the medical mumbo jumbo that you've no doubt been bombarded by. " The problems started recently ie when he finished this school year we moved to another location. " And what was the problem? Some anxiety about moving? Depressed about not being able to see his friends? (normal stuff) If that is the case, then there is no medical necessity to take drugs. " The doc recommended him to undergo small operation, which he did. But then started to have problems , he was frustrated by the result. " Expectations of good results that turn out to be bad results normally make people frustrated. Whatever operation he had, even a small one, can alter a persons hormonal system and cause depression like symptoms, or the anesthetic is known to cause depression. " So then he was prescribed SSRI. " This highly profitable, mind altering drug was prescribed as the result of surgery gone bad? This sounds very suspect so far... " Our son does not want to talk about it much. " There could be several reasons for this. One reason is that medical workers take away hope, by telling people the lie that there is a chemical imbalance in their brains that requires this drug being consumed for life. It's a life sentence based on a lie. Depression is a feeling of hopelessness, and these doctors are trained to take hope away. It's the biggest scam in the world today. Your son needs acknowledgment, love and hope. That is the cure, not toxic drugs. And he should get all his hormone levels tested, and post those numbers to the group here. " He started to take medicine two weeks ago and doc say he has to adjust and it takes some time... " I was victimized by this very same lie. The truth, from scientific research documented, proves these drugs have an immediate and radical effect in the brain (tested on rats), causing a chemical imbalance within the hour. This was found through legitimate science. And the doctor says that it takes time, because time will make him addicted, and possibly a permanent customer $ for the doctor and the pharma co. " Also the doc tells him it would help overcome his frustration and help him study. " Frustration is not a disease, and it can't be " cured " by toxic drugs, or radiation, or surgery. Frustration needs to be resolved by understanding and hope. " So i do not know if quit or swith for another one. " All psychiatric drugs are very dangerous, and one SSRI will cause the same problems as another SSRI. Same poison, different label. IMO, it's better not to take drugs, if there is a better solution. Actually, it's more than an opinion. I've read medical books, some from Harvard at the local library, and they all say that these drugs are only to be used as a last resort. In todays Orwellian world, that's not what's happening. Prudence and the Hippocratic oath is largely abandoned. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hippocratic_Oath Most have sworn an oath ($) to the pharma drug cartel. " I personaly do not like the idea to drug young people. " Drugging young people is a bad idea. And it's also a bad idea to be drugging any person for " disorders " that were never proven to exist. (Psychiatric diagnosis is invented by voting, real disease is discovered.) Also, there are no long term study's done to show the long term effects of these drugs. Therefore, those effects are unknown to the medical profession. When the doctor says that the side effects go away in time, it is simply a lie. I have personally heard this lie both on the drug and off the drug. Meanwhile, the data simply doesn't exist to support what the doctors say. IMO, right now is a crucial time to explore all possible treatment options for what the " problem " is. That could be talk therapy (no toxic damage from that), or it could be healthy diet and exercise, or supplements, or even acupuncture, or a chiropractor. Healthy body - healthy mind. Also the stress of experiencing life changes and surgery can cause bodily and emotional havoc in all sorts of ways. Creating a low stress lifestyle is very important. There could be some doctors nearby wherever you live that specialize health using these same concepts. Guest guest
P.S. I am not a doctor and don't actually give medical recommendation. We share suggestions, knowledge, experience, strength, and hope, for the day a brighter future for me and my fellow PSSD survivors will come. > > > > I varies from person to person.
