hi Penny,

I have always loved wearing rings but I'm in your boat now, too. They hurt to

put on and my fat little fingers are even fatter now! My hands stay red all the

time, too. They feel like water balloons. My r.a. started in my feet, I

thought I had stone bruises from walking in the woods, and it then spread from

the balls of both feet to the entire foot area. My wrists are currently the

most painful, they have shooting pains in them at night and I sleep with a

heating pad on my hands. My knees make crunching sounds when I bend them, my

rheumy said that is also due to a bone spur on my right knee. This disease

definitely takes a lot of adjustment. I'm working on the depression part hard

right now and I am thankful I found this room to talk to all you great people

in. Thanks!

Hi!

I can relate to most of the posts and I am not diagnosed,

officially, yet. My rheumy appointment is in a month. It is

starting to hurt to sit on my computer chair and since I am about 40

pounds overweight, there should be enough padding. I can feel the

pain right to the bone-the is a new symptom that has only bothered

me this month. The hands and feet have been for a few months and

since the beginning of Oct, I have experienced swelling where I have

had to take off my rings, including my wedding ring, most of the

time. Now, I lost ten pounds so it is not like my fingers got

fatter. My family can see the swelling and it hurts to type.

I work part-time as a sales associate(the only one in the store) in

a small upscale children's store called, " Wonderland. " I can

cashier fine, but I have trouble putting the products in the bags

and it can be rather embarrassing at times. Sometimes the customer

just takes their product and puts it in the bag that I am offering.

I just thank them and say that my arthritis is acting up

today...hummm, every day. I am doing a good job and the owners are

happy with my work, although I can not believe that I am only making

a bit over minimum wage and I am a college graduate, but I am too

ill to do high pressure long hour jobs...anyway, that is my

story...Gentle hugs to all, Penny
