Guest guest
Good workout, Donna! And good luck with the dog thing! My parents always had border collies...they were beautiful. I never had a regular collie though. Jeanette Hi Everyone,Today was Ellen's Fat Burning Fusion followed by Mari Winsor's 20 Min Workout from her original series. I am actually really feeling all these Pilates/Fusion workouts - my legs feel worked and mildly sore as does my torso. I also feel " long " and stretched. I love these!! Tomorrow I'm planning to do a light cardio (something I can do barefoot, preferrably, as I have decided I don't want to wear shoes this week!) and then Yogini. I hope everyone has a good day!Still no word from the Collie people. I'm trying not to be discouraged - I figure the right dog will come into our lives at the right time, but I really hope I hear from them at the same time! I guess I'm more frustrated b/c I *know* I would provide a good home for the dog.......Talk to everyone later -Donna

Maybe call them and check on your application? Glad you're enjoying your workouts. That helps a lot emotionally. `* ´¸.•´ ¸.•*¨)¸.•*¨)(¸.•´(¸.• (¸.•´¸¸.•¨¯`•.¸¸.s
Guest guest
Man I had a hard time getting a regular old kitten, no special breed, on Craigslist! People never followed up or called me back. I wound up going to the Cupid Kitten adoption agency, where Junior stole my heart! Hugs. Hope you find your fuzzy soulmate soon! Still no word from the Collie people. Guest guest
HI!I figured that as well - I e-mailed them today (one week after the phone interview) and I will call later in the week if I haven't rec'd a response to the e-mail. I also have another application in w/ another organization (they just adopt out mutts - they seem more responsive). I'm having a phone interview on Wed. I swear, it is harder than getting a job! I also find it somewhat ironic in that I could go to a breeder an BUY a dog and not have to jump through so many hoops. I understand they have to do their due diligence, though and I'm trying to be patient. Talk to you later!!!Donna Oh - I would love a German Shepherd - I think Shenan had some Shepherd in her - unfortunately, I think what killed her (tumors in her blood vessels) has a greater incidence in Shepherds than other dogs....> I know - it is frustrating! I can see them wanting to make sure they got a good home, but dang how long does it take when these dogs DESPERATELY need homes ASAP! I didn't realize it was like that. `* ´¸.•´ ¸.•*¨)¸.•*¨)(¸.•´(¸.• (¸.•´¸¸.•¨¯`•.¸¸.s

Guest guest
Makes you wonder if they do this because of cruel things that have happened in the past. Guest guest
I'm sure they do - and I think they want to be sure to fit the dog in the proper home. Some people don't realize that dogs have issues that you need to deal with - barking, shedding, need for exercise, grooming, t-storm fears. Anyway, I have my fingers crossed we get a Collie b/c DD wants one ,but I would be happy w/ another mutt.....we'll see. I think the breed rescues maybe even more militant than the shelters in that they adore/love the breed and want to make sure the fit is perfect. I'm sure it will come together at some point. Guest guest
oh for sure the rescues and shelters are very very careful about who they give a dog to and sadly abuse still possibly happens. even though i was an experienced owner of other large breed and even northern breed dogs, they still put me through a rigorous interview, would only let me keep the dog for an hour at a time, then only an afternoon, then they wanted just one day...geesh! they had to force chinook to return to the kennel after getting out for these short periods. i got them to skip the last step and had them just give me the dog, already. :*carolyn. Guest guest
I know the rescue groups, etc have to be very careful who they adopt out to, etc. And I know they have the BEST intentions...but I think all of the red tape can drive people to just go to a breeder or pet store. Or dog (basenji) ran away a few years ago and he ended up with a basenji rescue group. We had to jump through a ton of hoops and spend several hundred dollars to get him back. If that happened today there is no way I could afford it. Jeanette I'm having a phone interview on Wed. I swear, it is harder than getting a job! Guest guest
Ugh, Jeanette, that is awful.....I'm working with a Mutts rescue and they seem to like me. The collie people just keep saying "if you don't hear back from us, look for another organization". I'm really ok w/ getting a mutt, DD wants a Collie but I think I can convince her of a mutt.
