Guest guest
Thanks, ! I'm kind of in the same boat as you job-wise. I have been here since 1999 and it is pretty routine at this point - I'm bored by it but also, at this point, I don't really want to make any changes b/c I do get to work at home 2X per week and I also have a flexible schedule that lets me be more involved w/ 's life. So...here I remain, but it is uninspiring. I did want to clear out clutter a bit to have a fresh start, and it helped. I am not sure about what creative pursuit I want to follow - I have a few in mind - writing, drawing, knitting, maybe learning to play an instrument, etc. I have been stressed and most recently really by the whole dog thing - I really miss having a dog buddy and I think getting one soon (that is a good fit for our family ) will help my mood/outlook. Take care - Donna To: exercisevideos Sent: Thursday, July 19, 2012 2:04 PMSubject: Donna / a life balance Donna, decluttering definitely helps, because then you surrounded only by things that you truly love and want. Still, for me anyway, I wasn't being creative (which is easier to do in a clean house for sure) or writing, which is sort of necessary for me. There's something validating about it. I've been at my current job for 13 years so I more or less know everything, I don't have anything to aspire to. Having my own project and goals to reach for in the mental realm has helped me a lot. You've had a rough year, Donna - the stress from wondering if DH's aunt was going to live with you or not and then all the Fuzzers going to Heaven, then recently, Rescue Dog not working out and DD's collar bone. Hope you can find a healthy escape soon... being in the dumps for so long really takes a toll on a body.. Hugs, (the Pink Pussycat!)
Guest guest
Being an interpreter my job is different everyday and I LOVE that about it. I would be bored to death in an office job doing the same thing all the time, day after day. When I interpret I get to meet a lot of people that I would normally never meet. I get to learn about many different topics. I've learned a lot of the medical field from all of the medical interpreting I've done and from the college classes I've interpreted. I also have the freedom to accept or turn down any job assignment. I could work 24/7 if I chose to, or I could have a week off (sadly without pay) but I like having the freedom to choose. The biggest drawback is having to constantly re-test, which can be very stressful and some assignments haven't been very pleasant. All and all though I LOVE my job because it is challenging. I haven't had a really good year since 2009. I've felt down/depressed off and on since then. I feel better now although I'm worried about my Mom and her blood loss situation. Hopefully the Doctors can solve the problem soon! JenSubject: Re: Donna / a life balanceTo: "exercisevideos " <exercisevideos >Date: Thursday, July 19, 2012, 2:20 PM Thanks, ! Guest guest
Thanks , but I would be dead if I tried to swim for 2 hours LOL. I did water exercise that long and I swam for 30 minutes. My Mom will have blood work tomorrow and find out if she needs another blood transfusion or not...poor Mom! I'm doing better but I need to get to bed earlier at night so that I'm not tired during the day...working on it.
