Guest guest
Perhaps you should print out " the Spoon Theory " and give it to your family members to read. http://www.butyoudontlooksick.com/2004/11/the_spoon_theory.php

Guest guest
Hi , Thankfully, my husband is a federal auditor so we can transfer almost anywhere as long as they have room for him. It would be nice to find a place that is the same size or similar size as Lansing. Is there such a place with mild weather? Not too hot or too cold and not too rainy? lol I have a million and two doctors and hope that I can get a good referal or two since they are all from different parts of the country. I'm greatful to have several health professionals in my family that live all over too. Jas is still just a baby so I'm not worried about moving her away from friends but I would like her to go to a good school. We were just thinking of the idea and it got me wondering what things I would have to think of and since it would just be me and my husband moving all of our stuff (we really don't have that much since we've only been married six years and I don't get to shop very much) I'm certain we would have to hire a moving service if we moved out of state because I would have to make several stops if we moved very far since we wouldn't have any help. Thanks for the tips! Annie > Hi, my name is and i am new to this group. Just a suggestion, these are the things that I would look for, 1) make sure they have a good RA or Fibro MD, that staff at local hospitals are at least knowledgeable of autoimmune diseases. Job market, school for your daughter. Most of all do you really want to move a long distance from your family? For me if they were making me worse as far as my health I would get the hell out of there so fast there heads would spin. You are the second person that wrote having a problem with their family. I do too. Do they think that we are faking all this and that we enjoy all the pain, depression, anxiety and all the other wonderful things that go along with are diseases. Whatever your choice is, remember for today you are still somewhat ok and that you have a husband that cares about you and your health and probably a beautiful daughter to be grateful. take what you like and leave the rest. > > Hugs, > happybluerainbow@... >

Guest guest
From what I've heard, the best place in the country if you want perfect weather year round is : San Diego Also very expensive to live there.
Guest guest
Annie, Southern California weather seems to be the best for me (I visit relatives in Minnesota and Ohio a lot), there are wonderful doctors here for just about any specialty, but it is extremely expensive to live here. We only manage because we moved to CA in the 60s, and so were able to buy a house when they were cheap. But everything's expensive here, for example, gas is $3.29 for regular right now. Depending where your hubby's job would be, there are some areas that are cheaper, because they are a ways out. The desert might be good for you, around Palmdale or Lancaster, for instance. The first thing I'd do is make a list of possible places for him to transfer, then investigate the weather, cost of living, medical availability, etc. And, of course, post possibilities here, someone could probably give you first-hand info about the area. Then try to arrange a visit to make sure it really would work for you. I am very lucky that my family, with one exception, has been extremely supportive. That son lives in Minneapolis, so I control when and how I see him. My sister has RA and Reynauds, so when I visit, we often sit and have a good old-fashioned gripe session. I wished I lived closer to her! but no way do I want to deal with Midwest weather. Guest guest
-Annie, re:go to Az or Calif from janet...I live in Az and am flaring badly right now right along with the rest of you! The weather may be dryer here some of the time...it is rainy and muggy and extremely hot july thru Sept and cold and rainy NovDeC-Feb. SO -if you are comming just for the weather you had better check it out first. You may not be any better off weather wise than you are where you are now...although you would be far from family!.. one thing to think about is that you don't want to live anywhere that is a vacation area either. Then they would still be comming and driving your and your family crazy!! and it would be harder to get rid of them, and it would cost more to send them home. Also, property prices are off the roof out here and in California they are worse!...you will want to check that out...you would not want to move to a place where the median house is in the 300-400thousand range if your budget is not up to it. It would be a shame to go from living in your own house to an apt just to escape from your relatives...there are parts of the country where it is still reasonable to own property and still have money left over for groceries!!...I guess the best advice is to do your homework on the internet before you ever think about leaving home!! You are lucky that these days you can research a lot without ever leaving home...and find out if a community is right for you, what the schools are like..what the job market and housing markets are like...this is a great opportunity to start new in a different place..to do something you have always wanted to ....like if you live in the city now but have always wanted samll town or country life..or the opposite if you are tired of small town and want the big city with all the muesums and plays etc...each has it own appeal....what appeals to you and your family? the country, the city, the mountains, the ocean??? Once you figure out what appeals to each of you and agree on a type of place...then you can research and find the perfect place for all of you, then go and visit it!ANd I would think twice about leaving a forwrding adress if I were you!!! They might just follow you there!! ....jenna In , " jan " <smokey61080@...> wrote: > > --- In , " Annie " <ahightower@> wrote > > Annie, go the AZ, or CA, when I was in AZ, over Christmas I have very > little pain, I live IN IL, and hate it I hope to move back to CA or to > AZ when Hubby retires. Guest guest
Annie, You asked some difficult questions, but ones that when you find the exact answers that fit your situation will help you to find a better place for you and your family. I do agree with your doctors that you should move. It may take some time for you and your husband to come up with the best place. You will need to be living in an area that offers good medical care, facilities as well as the types of doctors you will need to continue with your treatments and care. Another factor will be the weather. You might want to take the time to write down what weather conditions make your condition(s) worse or better. Use these to try to find areas where you would be as physically comfortable as possible. Employment opportunities for your husband will be a factor as well as housing opportunities as well as living costs in the area. Write down what things are most important to both of you and use those to help decide where to move. So many things can be researched today online so if you have the time and are physically able to do that, it could give you a wealth of information regarding various states, cities, etc. Just don't make a hasty decision as you may regret it. Check out everything carefully and visit the area first if at all possible. I wish you the very best in this project and hope it goes well and smooth for all of you. The only way to get better according to most of my doctors is to move out of Michigan. > > > > Where would you go? What things should I concider if I move? Guest guest
I, too, am now in TX, but want so much to back to WA state. In the meantime I just plan to go back to visit as often as possible. I was there the end of June and cried when the plane took off as I wanted so much to stay. SW WA is where my heart is and I just don't feel at home here. I'm in Humble...where are you? > > > I want to move back to WA state when the kids go off to college. > Counting down! Guest guest
I understand how you feel . They would have to pry me out of Texas. I was born and raised here. I have been in other states but they're not home. Joyce from Texas [ ] Re: a good place to live? I, too, am now in TX, but want so much to back to WA state.
