Guest guest
Hi Janet: Welcome to the group! The people you will meet here are very supportive, and our moderators, and a, keep the information flowing. We definately know that it is all not in our heads lol! I also have RA and Fibro, as well as OA and Raynaud's, and understand what you must be going through. I take medications for the RA and FM which are helping me in keeping the pain level down to tolererable most days, I still have flares and am in one now, unfortunately, but it is so much better than it was prior to getting the right medications going. What medications are you on? Are you seeing a rheumatologist? How were you diagnosed? Looking forward to hearing more about you - Kathe in CA --- jan <smokey61080@...> wrote: > > Hello > > My name is Janet I have RA and Firbo. Guest guest
Hi Janet: I have been diagnosed for 7 years now, and, yes, there is still pain here too. I don't think we are every truly free of the pain, no matter what meds we take. And then there is always the question of is it the RA or is it the FM or is it both? Never none! How long have you been on Enbrel? I have been on it about 6 months now, with Mtx, and that combo seems to be doing well for me, better than anything else I have tried. It took a few months to kick in. One thing I have learned, is to pace yourself, and don't try to do too much at one time. Especially as far as housecleaning. I take one room at a time, and by the end of the week, my house has been cleaned, but it has all started over again! I have just learned to live with a little more dust and dirt, what can you do when you are always in pain? I take a day off between rooms just to recover from the cleaning of the day before, and I only clean maybe 30 minutes at a time, or I will really be wiped out! I am 51, next month will be 52, and feel 82 most days. When I am hobbling through the market, and little old ladies pass me up, it is very disconcerting - not to mention downright embarassing. After all, we don't " look " sick or in pain! Hang in there - you have found a group that really understands what you are going through - I hope that your RA is under control soon. There are some other new drugs out like Orencia, that you might want to look into if the Enbrel does not work. Take care -- Kathe in CA Kathe " To ride a horse is to borrow freedom.
