Guest guest
My SHFB (sexual hormone binding globule) is high. I took a large dose of stinging nettle root extract for seven weeks, but with no effect. Does anybody have any alternative hint on how to reduce SHBG? My bound testosterone is normal, free T is low. I took testosterone gel therapy for two months, with no effect on free T. // Ulf
Guest guest
Don't drink coffee. That will raise SHBG. For natural stuff, the nettle root will lower it, and Zinc and Tribulus will raise testosterone. There is a drug called proviron that will bind to SHBG and lower estrogen. It's not approved by the (USA) FDA as the best drugs never are. Also the brand of the supplements is important. Don't buy anything made with ingredients from Malaysia. > > My SHFB (sexual hormone binding globule) is high. I took a large dose of stinging nettle root extract for seven weeks, but with no effect. Guest guest
Joe, I´ve mulled over your question. I took 1000 mg of nettle root daily for 7 weeks, with no effect on SHBG. In a study I just saw, with good results on many participants, 1200 mg was taken daily for 10 weeks. Not a big difference to my intake, but, with no other (?) known option, save perhaps proviron which I don't know anything about, maybe a higher dose, longer term trial is warranted. After all, it's cheap to buy and apparently safe from side-effects. Have you, or any one else, got some other thoughts on reducing SHBG? Among my symptoms are nil libido, but, with effort, I can get to orgasm if infrequently, and get a good, close feeling to my woman. I prefer to see the glass half full instead of half empty, and don't feel very bad by my PSSD. I'm still open to trying something new, although none of the substances I have tried have given other than a temporary lift. I'm hoping for some gradual improvement thanks to my relationship with my woman. // Ulf Ulf,I also have high SHBG. None of my doctors want to do anything about it, or know how to lower it. What are your symptoms? What are you planning to do to lower it, if anything?Joe> >> > My SHFB (sexual hormone binding globule) is high. Guest guest
Ulf, Could you post a link to that study, or tell me a bit more about it? That's interesting about the Nettle Root, I'll consider it. If you do decide to go 10 weeks with 1200mg, please post your results. Several months ago when I had my SHBG checked it was 60, which from what I understand is on the very high side of norma. My doc didn't seem concerned about it in the least, but I was told my level is consistent with an elderly man. Proviron is available to buy on the web without a prescription, it seems. But I don't really want to go down that road at this point. I agree with you, compared to some others on here I feel pretty fortunately. I don't have much of a libido, and I sure don't get erections like I used to. But I can orgasm and when I was in a relationship not that long ago things were pretty good. It really seems that being in a committed, long-term relationship that makes you happy is the best strategy to get over these problems, if the experiences on this message board are any indication. FYI, I take 5HTP and Micuna Pruriens right now and my mood is pretty good. Joe > > > > > > My SHFB (sexual hormone binding globule) is high. Guest guest
Can't go wrong with proviron bro. I've taken it for about 16 weeks with no bad effects at all. I even quit taking the Cialis. There isn't any quick fix for PSSD, but I think that proviron made sex a little better for me. My libido is still zero, but I think that during actual sex, there was more feeling. > > > > > > > > My SHFB (sexual hormone binding globule) is high. Guest guest
I'm taking 5 mg of Proviron daily, but sometimes I feel uncomfortable while urinating. Is it a normal? May be I should take it on need rather than giving up, because it really helps with libido and erections... > > > > > > > > > > My SHFB (sexual hormone binding globule) is high. Guest guest
5 mg? That's almost nothing. You don't mean 50 mg? Vornan > > > > > > > > > > > > My SHFB (sexual hormone binding globule) is high. Guest guest
Actually it is about 6 mg, just a quarter of 25mg tablets, if i can manage to break them into even pieces. It's a small dose, but its effect is significant, especially with erections. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > My SHFB (sexual hormone binding globule) is high. Guest guest
What made you decide to break them up into small doses? I've taken up to 100mg a day with no ill effect. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > My SHFB (sexual hormone binding globule) is high.
