Guest guest
I sympathize with you, . I get my Enbrel from Medco Special Pharmacy, and it's shipped directly to me. I haven't had a problem with UPS, but I always have to go round and round with the different people at the pharmacy about the fact that my insurance allows for a 34-day supply of meds. This means that for a 3-month supply, I am supposed to get 7 boxes, not 6! They can't seem to get it through their heads. When UPS delivers my Enbrel, someone has to sign for it. I wouldn't want it sitting out in the sun spoiling, not knowing it was there. The ice packs in mine have always been still frozen. I wonder who will be held responsible for the cost of that valuable product, the pharmacy or UPS. It should be UPS. Guest guest
: Very sorry to hear of your frustrating struggle. There are days when I say to myself, " Can't ANYTHING be easy?!? " One thing I would suggest is that you take the body of the e-mail you just wrote and put in into a letter. Find out who the President of UPS is and every other person in the chain-of-command and send it to ALL of them. Maybe then something will get done. God bless you! I just started Humira, and now Blue Cross has forced me to change to a new pharmacy from the local one I used for the first two months. I told them when I set up the account that UPS would be a problem unless each and every shipment included detailed directions to my house, and my phone number (more about my on-going struggle with UPS later). I called them to check on the shipment when it didn't arrive on Tuesday morning, I called twice more Tuesday, and I called at least twice today. They finally called a UPS supervisore, and my Humira arrived at 5:30 this evening. Surprise, surprise - not! - the ice had melted and the package was well above the acceptable temp. They will send a new one, but not before mid-day Friday. Which means I will be a day late taking my Humira (if UPS actually gets it here this time), and I have spent two full days sitting at home waiting, and will spend at least another half-day Friday. They think I have nothing to do but sit around waiting! And, the lady I talked to the last time said something to the effect that if I just called them right away instead of waiting . . . It seems like no one at UPS can read. The package was scheduled for overnight delivery, but, yesterday, it seems they " forgot " to put the package on the truck. So they just let it sit there, unrefrigerated, and rescheduled the delivery for today. Despite the big label that says, " Keep refrigerated " . Now, UPS has been a problem for the 14 years I've lived in this house. Yes, I've been fighting them for 14 years. They claim my house doesn't exist, despite the fact that it's been here since 1926. And has the number painted on the curb in two places, and has another sign out front with the number on it. The problem is that the south side of the street is one city, and the north side another one. They just assume that both sides are the same, and so don't even bother to look in our block. The regular driver has it figured out, but any time there's a sub, this happens. At least half a dozen times a year, and each time I end up talking to the local supervisor (different every time, it seems) who assures me that they'll put a note in the file so every package will be automatically marked with as " Check for special instructions " . Right. Oh, I so look forward to going through this every month! Thanks for letting me vent. Gotta get that nasty stress worked off somehow! Guest guest
Hi : That all sounds so exasperating! Why did BC change the place of service? Wasn't your local pharmacy in the network or something? I think that you should definately complain as high up as you can with the UPS people about the Humira issue, and also let Humira know what happened - after all they had to take back a bad shipment because it had been left out, and that is money lost to them. This stuff is not cheap. Maybe having a sign out front of your street which says that this is the City of ................. and on the other side of the street saying this is the City of .................? I don't know what else you can do if they can't read their Guides. But I would put in more complaints to the UPS people, for sure, because this medication is essential to your health and well being, and being late on the medication puts you at risk for having to suffer through a flare. Make it as good a complaint as you can, and as life or death as you can too! I am sorry you have to go through this, and hope that the next Humira package gets there icy cold and on time! Kathe in CA P.S. Your house sounds charming - is it a Crafsman or n? I love old houses. --- Overell <patricia.overell@...> wrote: > I just started Humira, and now Blue Cross has forced > me to change to a new> pharmacy from the local one I used for the first two> months.
