Guest guest
I LOVE zumba... it is so freeing and the workout is sneaky.in the way you get your hr up.. plus what I find totally amazing is the instructors we have at the university don't use many verbal cues.. as a former aerobics instructor I am totally mesmerized by it.. It is very popular where I work because we have such a diverse student population..I don't know if I ever bragged about our tiny but fun little university where I am a faculty member.. we are getting tons of accolades.. and our president is as wonderful as they say.. I have had several dinners with him and he is just so inspirational.. I would vote for him for anything but he loves molding young minds.. even still teaches occasionally...http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/education/quiet-revolution-in-teaching-science-is-earning-umbc-extra-credit/2012/03/08/gIQArmoYQS_story.htmljudy To: Exercise Videos <exercisevideos > Sent: Tuesday, April 3, 2012 10:25 PM Subject: back and biceps with Noel I know I know, I was going to do legs again, but I can't get hot yoga out of my mind. While I don't plan on doing Bikram any time again soon, it did reinvigorate my love for yoga in general and to that end, I'm going to try Group Centergy at CAC tomorrow night, and maybe even stay for Zumba afterward. Group Centergy is the Body Training Systems equivalent of Les Mills Body Balance. It is a gym style yoga, but I've always enjoyed Body Balance at home. The instructors at CAC have all been great so far and what the heck, it's no extra cost to me to take Centergy so why not? I need my legs to do both Centergy and Zumba..It was a fun night at Fitness. Noel had on a new fancy camo/matrix-y type shirt on. I came in and said, "Hi Rambo". Other people were teasing him about it too and he bragged it was an XXL and his arms would barely fit through the sleeves.. I told him about hot yoga which of course got me teased. He went into his gay voice, "*I* work out in the PEARL!!! I drink wheat grass shots beforehand for ENERGY!" (Remember the Pearl is the artsy fartsy part of town) Then we talked about this trainer in Salem who's trying to dis Noel which is hilarious, this guy is a nobody and meanwhile Noel is training pros. He showed me this Facebook post where this guy guy more or less brags about how great he is by saying how he used to be an alcoholic then lost a business venture in 2008 and how he overcame it all and we were all just cracking up and coming up with how great we are since we were failures LOL Next week is my last session. Not sure if I'll buy more at this time or not, though of course I will eventually, I always do!
Guest guest
ooh - thanks for that article. I know I have 10 years to go before considering college for my DD - and right now, at age 8, she is very interested in science (she wants to be a vet and has told me that since she was 3!) I will definately follow this school - especially if we are still living MD and can get in-state tuition!Donna Subject: Re: back and biceps with NoelTo: "exercisevideos " <exercisevideos >Date: Wednesday, April 4, 2012, 9:32 AM I LOVE zumba... it is so freeing and the workout is sneaky.in the way you get your hr up.. plus what I find totally amazing is the instructors we have at the university don't use many verbal cues.. as a former aerobics instructor I am totally mesmerized by it.. Guest guest
Judy, how wonderful to be a part of this! It's so needed, too. It seems like I'm often coming across articles bemoaning the decline of science literacy, and here you're making it fun, interesting, and relevant. People won't connect with a subject unless they find it interesting or relevant.  I finally got around to reading this article, Judy.
