Guest guest
I don't know how this will work, but I'm going to have my MS Contin filled today after I pick up the script. Like you, I ran out Saturday, but that was purely my fault. I didn't think it was helping me until I weaned off of it. Then I had a wake-up call! Anyhow, I signed up for the Medicare program through Humana, and the info I have says I don't pay anything for it until the second month. Then I'll pay $7 per script. Before I signed for the Medicare program, I was paying out of pocket, and it cost me $62 per month at my Wal-Mart pharmacy. Maybe the difference is that I don't have a HMO. From what I've heard, they are very restrictive and a pain to deal with. I wish I didn't have to travel 35 miles each way just to pick up the script, but the Rheumy says he can only write one month at a time. Is this a law or a preference? Dennis [ ] #%@^ & #% & New medicare prescription plan! Hi all, I went to fill my ms-contin script. I have Medicare plus an HMO. Now, with the new drug plans, due to my income (or lack thereof) I am exempt from the $250 deductible. I have been calling Community Care (HMO) everyweek to make sure they have this info. I ran out of ms-contin (morphine) on Sat, so by today, was NOT in a good space. (plus having stomach/gallbladder probs, too ) First, I had to go to 3 different pharmacies to find one that had 60 pills. The first two only had 30, and wouldn't do a half-fill on the script. I finally get it filled. $106!!!! Now, according to the new formulary, it should be costing me $20. Because I already had been running around since 8am, had to have an abdominal ultrasound, which I am waiting for the docs office to call for the results. And, I know once I hit the 3rd day with no morphine, I start going thru withdrawals (not fun). I paid it. I have all the paperwork, and will be calling the insurance co. tomorrow to find out what the heck is going on. Before the new changes, my ms-contin was $57/month. I have just had a very frustrating day. Kids are out of school AGAIN. Teacher conferences. They've only been back a week. Our kids are special needs, and this wreaks havoc with thier schedules. When I got home, I just went in my room and cried. I needed a good cry today. who is SOOOOOO glad you all are here for me to vent with. Guest guest
I had a rough day, myself, trying to get a script for MS Contin and get the MRI on my back for the Siatic nerve pinching I've been suffering for a few years but got really bad when I tried to get off Prednisone. On the way to the doc's office 35 miles away, oil pressure in the truck became erratic and finally to sero. Not a good thing. From there to the hospital, it behaved for the most part, but coming home after being in the MRI machine for over a half hour made me miserable. I'll have to pull some parts off the engine to see what I may have damaged. With the truck down, my only alternative was to load the scooter on it's little trailer and take the trike to town. It was a little cold going to town and back. But, MARY, this is for you. I got my 60 pills for a grand total of <insert drum roll> $0.00! Maybe the Humana plan will work for me.
