Is this a typical part of RA? Or could it be a side effect to one of

HI karen,

Yeah, I know cold feet alright! But I was diagnosed

with Raynauds phenomenon (SP?) back in High school,

almost ten years before the onset of RA. They

basically told me that it was a circulation condition

that could later predispose me to something like RA>

(though I dont think I knew what they were talking

about at the time.) They had me on Procardia which is

obviously a heart medication, but it made me feel

weird somehow, and I went off it for some reason (I

dont remember why now). Their other solution to the

Raynauds, and cold hands and feet was " move to a

warmer client. " Easier said than done for a high

school sophomore whose parents live in Michigan! With

me it has always been ice cold feet (that were so bad

at times it gave me a headache), cold hands, complete

with funcky skin color, and strangley enough, a cold

bum! Which seems weird to me considering it seems

well padded to me. ANyway, you can look into it with

lots of tests and appointments, and maybe even go the

Procardia route, but I just settled on a down

comforter and really warm socks.

good luck and stay

warm karen, My thoughts are with you,

Mel

-Hi ,

My feet don't get literally cold, but do get very cold in winter. My

toes turn purple. Hands do the same thing. I was diagnosed with

Raynald's by my rheum. He calls it red and white syndrome. When my

hands are very warm, they are very red and almost hot to touch. It gets

unbearable when that happens. Especially in a movie theater.

Ask your rheum about Raynald's. That's probably what you have. I don't

take anything for mine though.

-It should be red, white and blue syndrome.

Hi :

I know you enjoyed your ride, no matter what! I hope

to get out tomorrow and no RA, FM, he** or high water

will keep me from doing it!

As to your cold feet, sounds like Raynaud's might be

making an appearance. It is fairly common to RA, and

can include feet and hands. I actually have to wear

gloves in my house because my hands get so cold, even

when the weather is not all that cold outside! Try

typing with gloves on! I always have my fuzzy

slippers on my feet, no only are they very comfy, they

keep my feet warm. The only difference in my cold

feet I have noted, is that now the bottoms of my feet

may be cold, but the tops of my feet into my ankles is

always, always hot, and painful, day in and day out!

Anyway, discuss this with your doctor and ask her to

check you out for Raynaud's!

Hope today is a better day for you!
