The Pelvic Core and How to Keep It Strong

I have two DVSs that are designed to strengthen a women’s

pelvic core.  Why,

does a woman need to strengthen her pelvic core?  Four big reasons –

Age

(it happens to all of us.)

The

Law of Gravity (unrelenting, unforgiving)

Pelvic

surgery

Childbirth

Further, the organs rest on the pelvic floor and it is wise

to keep the pelvic floor strong.  A strong

pelvic core keeps your bladder strong, and you are far less likely to leak when

you laugh or cough.

Anyway, these two recent DVDs cover the subject well.  Jane Fonda’s DVD “Walkout – Jane Fonda –

Prime Time” has about a fifteen minute section on how to do kegel

exercises.  I learned a lot from her and

the tape and somehow even learned to do the exercises on my own - and do them  on most

evenings – it’s only about fifteen minutes and I sit down with a watch and a timer

and take care of pelvic core. I bought the tape for the Walkout, but it turned

I was glad I bought it for the kegels.

By the way, kegels are the exercise you do when you contract

internally and tighten the pelvic core.

The second DVD is Kama Movement – you can read about the DVD

at www.kamamovement.com.  If you want to buy it, get it at www.totalfitnessdvds.com – the

postage is less.  I enjoy this tape and

think it is beautifully produced. But I’ve decided to just do one movement from

it each day and continue to do kegels on my own. I have so many other DVDs to choose from and I don’t want to

restrict myself.  It promises to tighten

your pelvic core and it will do that.

And it promises to improve your sex life and it probably does.  I can’t testify to that right now – being

without a partner.

They’re both winner DVDs and this is something no one ever

talks about.  My co-worker and buddy from

Nigeria, Stella told me its is the tradition in her country that when a woman

has a baby her mother sits her down and teaches her pelvic core moves to

strengthen and tighten her pelvic area. Since we lack that tradition, DVDS will

have to do.
