I love " House, " and I am disturbed by the current plot. But it seems to

me that House is addicted to Vicodin and needs help with his addiction.

He is so stubborn, though, that he won't listen to his friends when

they try to help him. He did do illegal things, like steal his friends

prescription pad and write himself prescriptions and forge his friend's

signature. He also illegally got Oxycontin, I believe it was, that was

intended for someone else. I certainly don't want him to wind up in

jail, but I do want him to get help. I think that his pain management

system that he designed for himself led to his addiction. It will be

interesting to see the outcome.

Hugh Laurie is on an " Ellen " rerun tomorrow. I hope I remember to get

up early enough to see him.

Hi ,

We are big House fans. I hate that Dr. House may do to jail along with

the doctor that gives him the meds (the cute one). Hopefully someone

will agree that Dr. House has chronic pain and needs the meds. But I

don't like when Dr House steals script pads to write his own.

I know -- I didn't like that House forged a prescription, either. I got

the impression that he ended up doing that because the other doctors

(like the cute one -- ) took it upon themselves to try and force

him to endure more pain because they didn't want to give him the pain

meds he truly needed. With as much pain as he had, they should've had

him on something else -- like oxycontin -- and monitored his drug use

better. Oh, but that wouldn't make the story line so interesting,

though! I still enjoy the show, but can't stand Tritter (the detective

who wants to put House in jail). He seems like a sadistic son of a gun,

and I hope he eventually receives the " Karma " that he deserves (I know --

I'm hopelessly addicted to the show!) :-)

Take care,

I try to watch " House " when I can, and I do not like the way they are

handling the topic either.

There is enough confusion in the real world amongst both patients and

physicians regarding pain management for chronic pain patients without their

adding to it.

House, smarty pants that he is, would know that Vicodin is probably not the

best choice for round the clock pain.

I'm not sure exactly where the story line is heading (will it be revealed

that House is truly an addict?), but I guess we'll see in January.

I know this is somewhat off-topic, but I think I would feel better

knowing that some of you find it as irritating as I do.

Its on Fox, at 8 or 9 on Tuesdays.

I agree, the other drs on the show are uninformed. I

dont think anyone can understand how chronic pain

effects you until you have it. I dont condone his

addiction, but I understand why (and how) you could

become addicted-I would love to have a pain free day!

Hi Pris,

House comes on Tuesday night on the Fox channel, 7pm central time.

Yep, everything you say is true! And it does make him a most

interesting character.

It's on Fox, Tuesdays nights. However, they've been showing a lot

of reruns on other nights, like Mondays. Also, they show reruns on

USA channel -- I've seen it on USA on Friday nights. If you log

into TVGuide.com or TitanTV.com and run a search for House, all the

episode times will come up.

Yep, I'm addicted! :-) House is an unbelieveably rude and yet

somehow sympathetic character. Hugh Laurie, the actor who plays

him, is English (he had to learn how to speak " American " for the

show) and is amazingly good in the role. Sometimes I think House is

just saying all the rude things that people actually think, but are

polite enough not to say out loud. It's like watching a train wreck!

Take care,

Sue

it is funny that so many people feel the same way I do, I felt the

story is realy go in the wrong directions, I could not put my finger

on why...and now hearing your post I understand it is just not going

in the right direction and i dont like the way they are portraying

House at all! I have stopped watching it waiting for this story line

to pass because normally I love that show!

Hi all,

I live in England so the new series of House hasn't been shown here,

but i've read the summaries online (i'm obsessed!!). After reading

your posts I realise that i'm very lucky to be able to take

advantage of the NHS in England. This really strikes home when

people talk about the expenses of doctors appointments over there.

I cannot believe they are limiting House like that. Ok, so he broke

the law a bit, but he shouldn't have had to in the first place. I

take at least 7 tablets a day, and that's without my pain killers,

with them and some vitamins, it's 18 tablets a day. I can't imagine

my drs restricting my painkillers. I think I get a refill of 100 or

so every month!! It's awful that House (and many real people!) have

to deal with chronic pain without the relief they deserve.

I also have a question, has anyone lost a lot of weight while on

sulfasalazine and prednisolone? A Dr, not my usual one, told me that

it was due to battling a chronic illness. But, i'm a bit worried, I

just wondered if this had happened to anyone else?

Merry Christmas to everyone!!

Emma
