Pure & Simple is my least favorite. here are some comments that i made about this dvd in the past: when you first put the dvd in, you need to make some decisions... music on or off? breathing track on or off? guided instruction on or off? beginner, intermediate or both at the same time? (i dont think that there is an advanced option). the music is fitting, so i left it on... it is not new agey or distracting. i turned the breathing track off pretty quickly. i just couldnt listen to that heavy breathing in and out through my whole workout! also i must hear eoin, so i cant bear to turn him off. finally i picked the intermediate practice. the practice started with sun sals which were invigorating. after those are over, there is a collection of simple poses. lots of great stretching for the legs, but nothing for the upper body. i did skip over a few poses because i had to keep it to 30 mins.... the whole practice was probably around 40 mins. i still felt great by the end. certainly not power yoga which eoin normally presents (except for the warmup sun sals, i guess)... the practice really was pure and simple and i quite enjoyed it. advanced power yogis probably wouldnt like this one though, unless they are looking for something light to do. --------------------------- This yoga dvd is quite remarkable, not only for the 40 minute practice that it contains, but for the features on the disc. for example, there are two versions of the practice to choose from (beginner and intermediate), and you can choose to watch both at once in split-screen so you can tailor the workout to your ability. you can also choose between multiple audio tracks, turning on/off instructions, music and breathing sounds. the scenery is spectacular, eoin's instructions, cueing and comments are always great. the next day, my upper body was sore from the chatarungas and down dogs. this dvd used to be called 'pure & simple yoga' but eoin has now added the 'for stiffies' part to the title. :*carolyn. Guest guest
Wow, that's a lot of options. I agree about the breathing. There must be a lot of it to have the option to turn it off, ugh.~~ Sent from my Thunderbolt 4GLTE ----- Reply message -----To: <exercisevideos >Subject: pure & simple yoga - eoin finnDate: Wed, Jul 11, 2012 7:17 pm> If you are watching your wallet, I wouldn't bother getting this> one.
