Guest guest
Hi Angie, Oh boy, do I understand what you are going through. I too have been in a huge flare up. All of the same symptoms as you. Every joint including shoulders, and neck. Ouch, Ouch, Ouch... I don't know what to tell you about getting a good nights sleep. Just the past few nights have I been able to sleep through the night and have noticed that my flare up is not as bad. I'm not sure why? It could be that for the past few days the weather has warmed up ( in the high 80's low 90's,) and the humidity has lessened, or it could be the fact that I have been taking 2 tablets of 200 mg ibuprofen before bedtime for the past few nights. I just don't know, but I feel it's the weather, I always feel better when the weather is warm. All I know that it is horrible not sleeping and being in such pain. Take care Angie <angie-long@...> wrote: Hi guys Thought I would see if any one has any suggestions on getting a good nights sleep. I am staying so tired I am up and down all night long Keep on waking up with sever pains in my legs and back mostly I have been taking tylonel arthritis but it isn't helping at all I am still having a major flair hands, knees, elbows, feet, back every joint seems to be swollen and painful so that may be contributing to the pain level and fatique too. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks Angie
Guest guest
---you are askinf for suggestions i have lots and these are just some of the suggestions massage therapy 3. Massage, was indicated in 63% of the readings and this was to be given usually after another treatment such as as Epsom salt baths or after a steam bath or the use of the wet cell device. Specific oils were advised to be used with the massage, which were equal parts of olive oil with peanut oil and tincture of myrrh. Prepared by heating a small amount of olive oil and then adding the myrrh. It was mentioned to use the oils freely and as much as the body could absorb. Other oils were lanolin, mineral oil, olio pine needles, sassafras oil, witch hazel, oil of wintergreen, cedarwood oil, mustard oil, kerosene and tincture of benzoin. spiritual/reiki healing Castor oil is also used on any arthritic, rheumatic, or muscular and joint pain as unction. Basically an infra red lamp is placed 12-18 inches from the part to be massaged. Apply the castor oil on the painful area and let the lamp warm it and this will help the oil to penetrate the skin, this done for about 5-10 mins. Then keep rubbing with the fingers and hand until the oil is worked in. Keep putting more oil on and massaging continued for 10-60 mins. Massage was also very helpful, to be given usually after another treatment such as an Epsom salt bath. and these are just a few - i have a file on ra if you are interested and are willing to try a few things phil In , " Angie " <angie-long@...> wrote: > > Hi guys > > Thought I would see if any one has any suggestions on getting a good > nights sleep. Guest guest
Hi Angie, Sorry I can't give advice on RA pain. Since I have FM my rheum gives me Elavil to help me sleep. In addition I take my muscle relaxant and Ultram. Those 3 meds help me sleep. Unfortunately I am on a diuretic which I take early morning. I still am up to the potty 2-3x night. But I am still able to rest between the trips.
